BREWERS VS. ROCKIES, 8:40 P.M. ET
Rowdy Tellez
This game has the highest total on the board for Tuesday, so I wanted a player from this game included. Tellez is an obvious choice as he’s facing a righty with the wind blowing out to right field at the hitter-friendly Coors Field. The forecast at first pitch has the wind blowing out to right at 9 mph.
During his career, Tellez has been a far better hitter against right-handed pitching, and this year is no different. Against righties, he’s slugging .580 so far while slugging a mere .438 against lefties. Seven of his eight home runs so far have come versus right-handers.
The Rockies pitching staff has yielded 39 long balls this season, the eighth most of any MLB team.
CUBS VS. NATIONALS, 7:05 P.M. ET
Cody Bellinger
Cody Bellinger is having an excellent turnaround season for the Cubs this year. The big lefty has reunited with Dustin Kelly, his old hitting coach from his time in the Dodgers’ farm system. In the offseason, they adjusted Bellinger’s stance for a more relaxed look. Those tweaks have paid dividends early on. He’s shaved 6% off his swing and miss rate so far, and he’s also chasing fewer pitches outside the zone. Bellinger has smacked seven home runs early on and barreled eight balls, the second most of any Cubs hitter. His barrel rate of 10.1% is the highest since his MVP season in 2019.
Former Cub Trevor Williams opposes him. Williams is a perfect matchup for Bellinger, as his Stuff+ has taken a massive dip from last season, resulting in early struggles from the veteran. He’s allowed 12 barreled balls thus far, the fifth most in MLB. Additionally, his strikeout rate has fallen to 15%, in the bottom 10% in all baseball. Aiding the decision to pick Bellinger is his great history against Williams. In eight at-bats against him, Bellinger has clubbed two home runs.
TWINS VS. WHITE SOX 7:10 P.M. ET
Byron Buxton
Buxton has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past week. He’s homered in four of his last five games, including a long ball last Tuesday against the Yankees. He’ll have a favorable matchup today against Michael Kopech, who has been shelled in five starts so far. Kopech has allowed a league-leading 17 batted balls this season, along with the third most home runs with eight.
Enter Buxton, who has a rich history of tormenting the White Sox. Out of Buxton’s 28 homers a year ago, four of them came against Sox pitching. In his injury-shortened 2020 season, Buxton clubbed 13 homers in 130 at bats, four of which came at Guaranteed Rate Field.
FANDUEL DINGER TUESDAY CONCLUSION
I’ll be taking Buxton for my Dinger Tuesday selection this week. His fantastic history at Guaranteed Rate Field and against the White Sox is too good to pass up. Wind can also aid some long balls in this game, as it’s expected to blow out to right center at 18 mph. Best of luck with your own FanDuel Dinger Tuesday bets!

HOW DID WE DO LAST WEEK?
Jonah Heim failed to homer last week, along with our other two options. However, the Rangers did go deep twice in the game.
