ESPN BET Launch Date: Sportsbook Will Debut In 17 Markets On Tuesday, Nov. 14

The new PENN Entertainment and ESPN partnership is finally coming to fruition. The ESPN BET launch date is Tuesday, Nov. 14, and it will debut across 17 states, PENN announced Thursday. This rebrand will see the former Barstool Sportsbook converted into ESPN BET. With the announcement, Penn Entertainment saw shares rise 13% on the news.
ESPN Bet Incoming
The ESPN BET launch date comes just months after PENN initially announced its separation from Barstool and its partnership with ESPN. There were a slew of issues associated with the Barstool partnership, including regulators’ distaste for Barstool CEO Dave Portnoy. The belief is that the ESPN brand is far more in line with PENN’s goals.
“We are extremely excited to announce the planned launch of ESPN BET prior to the active Thanksgiving week sports calendar that includes the NCAA college football rivalry week and the Super Bowl rematch of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles televised on ESPN’s Monday Night Football,” said Jay Snowden, PENN Entertainment CEO and President. “ESPN BET will be powered by our proprietary and proven technology platform, which continues to drive impressive performance in Ontario under theScore Bet brand for both online sports betting and iCasino.”
ESPN BET will go live pending final regulatory approval. The Barstool Sportsbook app will be fully rebranded to ESPN BET. Users who already have Barstool Sportsbook accounts will be able to download the ESPN BET app, and their information will be saved.

ESPN BET Brings Changes To Media Brand
The ESPN BET Sportsbook won’t just be a change for PENN but also for the ESPN brand. All media programs will be using official odds provided by ESPN BET across their editorial content. This is similar to how Fox Sports programs cited FOX BET odds for a time. FOX BET, unfortunately, was unsuccessful in the market.
Per the official announcement, the popular sports betting series Daily Wager will be rebranded as ESPN BET Live. Fans will notice the shift in the show’s branding beginning Nov. 10.
