With English Premier League odds available and a new season on the horizon, it is time to take a look at the outright markets on offer. The race for title may be something of a foregone conclusion, but thankfully, this is not the case in other EPL markets like Golden Boot and relegation odds.

Let’s take a look at which players and clubs are attracting the most money at BetMGM. Click on the odds below to bet now.

EPL Golden Boot Odds

Harry Kane

With Erling Haaland joining an already lengthy list of world-class talent in the competition, the quest to be the Premier League’s top scorer is certainly going to be a fascinating one.

However, it is Tottenham’s Harry Kane that is grabbing the most attention before the opening weekend. The 29-year-old is currently third favourite at odds of +550, but he has the largest percentage of both the ticket and the handle at BetMGM, where soccer is one of its top-five most bet sports by handle (total money wagered).

With 19.7% of the top goalscorer tickets being placed in the direction of Spurs’ star striker, it is fair to say that many people are confident in Kane’s ability, and with him possessing plenty of it, goals in regular supply will not be all that far away.

While close to 20% of all wagers in this market are placed on the England World Cup captain to deliver, those wagers also make up 42.5% of the handle staked and this is the part of the reason that Kane’s odds have shortened from +600 to +550.

Erling Haaland

Although one should not forget the favourite in the hunt for goals and with Erling Haaland making the long-awaited switch from Germany’s Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City, he will be tasked with keeping the Etihad outfit at the top of the table.

However, when it comes to the top of the betting table, confidence from bettors is being placed elsewhere and although his odds have shortened from +300 to +225, only 9.4% of the overall ticket has gone towards the Norwegian hitman.

A figure that makes him only the fourth most popular choice at the time of writing and with Mohamed Salah having to make do with sharing the Golden Boot last season, the Egyptian forward will now look to win the award for a fourth time overall.

At odds of +450, backing Salah to win the prize is certainly worth some of your consideration and with 18.1% of the ticket being placed on Liverpool’s talisman, these bets equate to 11.1% of the handle.

Gabriel Jesus

Then again, one should not forget Gabriel Jesus either and with his move to Arsenal now complete, he has certainly captured the imagination of those who like to put their money where their mouth is and especially as the Brazilian currently has the biggest liability in the market.

While because of this, the former Manchester City forward’s odds to win the Golden Boot have shortened considerably. A starting point of +1600 now reads at +1000 and this can be explained by collecting 21.3% of the total handle.

EPL Relegation Odds

Of course, the race to top the goal charts is not the only longer-term market to back and another one of interest will be which teams suffer relegation at the end of the season – a market which is currently being dominated by Everton at present.

With Frank Lamaprd’s men avoiding relegation in dramatic fashion last season, there is little to suggest that their fortunes are going to improve during the 2022/23 campaign and with their odds shortening from +500 to +350, many feel the Merseyside men are eventually for the drop.

Especially as nearly one third of the overall ticket in this market (31.1%), has seen punters back Everton for relegation next May and the total value of these collective wagers, equates to 37.4% of the overall handle – not to mention, they also have the largest liability.

Leeds United

One key aspect to remember when it comes to Premier League relegation, is that it swallows up three teams per season and although Wisconsin-born Jesse Marsch kept Leeds up just a few months prior, his luck may run out this time around.

Or at least that is what the direction of betting is currently suggesting and with 13.3% of the ticket being placed on the Elland Road outfit to go down, it has also meant the starting relegation odds of +240 have now become +200.

Promoted EPL Clubs

Odds that both Nottingham Forest and Fulham can perhaps only dream of and with the promoted pair both now at +120, they are each responsible for 12.2% of the relegation ticket. Although it must be noted that the former of the two, has seen considerable positive movement in their odds.

Because with Forest largely splashing the cash this summer, they have moved from -125 to odds that suggest they may just avoid the drop. Although whether they do manage this outcome, is something English soccer fans will not find out until May 2023.
