The England World Cup roster has been officially announced, a 26-man squad for Qatar 2022. As expected for such an anticipated event, the list of names selected has been analyzed by the media and die-hard fans everywhere, with a passionate intensity that would be expected.

However, many on social media Thursday were not happy with some of the final England World Cup cuts.

Tomori Snubbed?

One hotly contested move is the inclusion of Harry Maguire as a defender over Fikayo Tomori. Maguire, a 29-year old veteran from Manchester United, and Tomori, who is 24 and playing for AC Milan. These are just a few of the tweets that sparked tens of thousands of likes.

James Maddison

On the other hand, there is overwhelming support for James Maddison, who made the team at the forward spot. Maddison, who has had a fantastic stretch with Leicester City the past few years, is somewhat viewed as a Cinderella Story … even by his own account.
