Cooper Flagg Props: Under 18.5 Points?
Bettors who believe in Cooper Flagg's greatness know far too well that the five-star freshman has failed to meet the market's expectations in all but one of Duke's tournament games. Still, his points prop hasn't budged, currently lined at .
Against Arizona in the Sweet 16, I suggested to bet on Flagg hitting two or more triples, which he cashed in the first half. Like the Cougars, the Wildcats present a stiff interior defense, possibly giving way to more three-point attempts for Flagg.
However, Houston's boasts next-level physicality. When he takes a jumper on Saturday, it will likely be contested or come late in the shot clock. Flagg, who ranks in the 93rd percentile or better in shot attempts at the rim and in the paint (CBB Analytics), will also have difficulty creating efficient offense off the dribble or via low-post touches.
As I noted in my Final Four best bets article, this matchup versus the Cougars' ultra-physical defense is more favorable for the Blue Devils' primary marksmen, assuming their torrid shooting continues. Duke has delivered a 47.3% clip from behind the arc in the Big Dance.
