DraftKings Reveals Wrigley Field Sportsbook, Announces June 27 Launch

DraftKings has unveiled the first look at the DraftKings Sportsbook at Wrigley Field in Chicago. This coincided with the announcement that the sportsbook will be opening its doors on June 27. Illinois sports betting fans will soon be able to wager at the storied field in the Windy City. The DraftKings Sportsbook at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, will have an emphasis on food and drink services. Locals will be able to come and enjoy sports betting and fine dining all in one place.
DraftKings First Look At Wrigley Field Sportsbook
This launch comes in tandem with the partnership between DraftKings and the Chicago Cubs. Announced back in September 2020, the sportsbook is the cumulation of years of effort from both parties to bring it together.
“Today marks a significant milestone in this multi-year project and it represents the shared vision and longstanding relationship DraftKings has established with the Chicago Cubs,” said Michael Kibort, Senior Director, Retail Sportsbook at DraftKings. “Fans will soon be able to experience the commitment both organizations have in creating unforgettable and authentic moments around sports.”
The sportsbook is described to have an “optimized design for the enjoyment of both sports viewing and elevated fan favorites and an extensive beverage program.” Fans can find the operation located adjacent to Wrigley Field on the corner of Addison Street and Sheffield Avenue.
“From the ballpark and rooftops to Gallagher Way and now the DraftKings Sportsbook, there are so many ways for fans to experience world-class hospitality at Wrigley Field,” said Jeff Denlea, Vice President of Hospitality Strategy for Levy at Wrigley Field. “We’re excited for this new space to capture the energy and excitement of a visit to the ballpark, with a hospitality experience all its own, crafted around all of the ways fans enjoy the action together.”

More Details On The Sportsbook
The sports lounge itself is a two-story venue with a 2,000-square-foot video screen. This would mark one of the largest video screens in the Midwest. Fans will be able to view up to 25 sporting events at once at the DraftKings Sportsbook.
All of the seats are positioned so that patrons can have optimal viewing no matter where they sit. Contractors had to work closely with the National Park Service, State Historic Preservation Office, and the Commission on Chicago Landmarks during construction. This is due to Wrigley Field’s status as a national historic landmark.
Locals are only days away from having access to the new retail operation. The venue will be open Monday through Thursday from 4-11 p.m.; Friday from 9-2 a.m.; Saturday from 9-2 a.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.- 10 p.m. and is subject to change based on events.
