Week 3 Justin Jefferson Odds Boost
SuperDraft Prop: O/U 0.5 Receiving Yards
Jefferson is the free square of the board this week. He is as close to a lock to get a yard as can be. Users should make sure to take advantage of this across all SuperDraft contests.
In other formats, Jefferson is going to be highly owned, because Chargers-Vikings is the highest total on the slate. Jefferson has broken 150 yards in both games so far, although he hasn’t gotten into the end zone. If Jefferson can manage a Touchdown, he will be a slatebreaker.
Against a Chargers defense that is dead last in the league by EPA both overall and against the pass, Jefferson should get his. With Minnesota 19th overall, the Chargers should be able to score too, speeding up this game even more.
Jefferson is almost assuredly going to be the highest-owned player across all formats. Fade him at your peril.
Highest Owned DFS Plays
Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs
David Montgomery is out, making Gibbs the lead rusher in Detroit. As 3.5-point favorites at home, Gibbs should get the lion’s share of the work (no pun intended). The downside is that the Falcons are 8th in EPA allowed per rush, making this a slightly difficult matchup. That said, Gibbs is in a smash spot.
With the only other running back getting meaningful touches gone, Gibbs should get an increase in rushing attempts. His real fantasy value, however, is his passing usage. 7 receptions for 39 yards is a hugely valuable part of his game across fantasy formats.
If he can get goal-line work this week for a team forecast to get just over 24 points, Gibbs could be a key to making money this week.
Saints RB Tony Jones Jr.
Jones Jr. didn’t do much against Carolina on Monday night, but he is a starting running back with almost nobody behind him. Taysom Hill will steal some of his yards, but even as Jones only got 12 carries for 34 yards, he got into the end zone twice.
Whether or not Taysom’s existence will deter enough ownership is unclear, but in other fantasy formats, Jones Jr. will be a significant discount for his projected volume. On sites where the value proposition more accurately reflects his role, however, he might not be as highly owned.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert
Even as the Chargers fund new and innovative ways of losing football games, Herbert has been stellar. 305 yards and 2 TDs in Tennessee last week was good for fantasy formats, and now he’s in the highest total game of the week.
The Chargers Defense being such a liability is an advantage for Herbert in fantasy. Forcing him to keep throwing and keep moving the ball downfield is great for maximizing fantasy value. With the Chargers having to face Justin Jefferson, Herbert will have to go strike for strike, raising both his and Jefferson’s values.
Best of luck navigating the highest-owned DFS plays of Week 3 in the NFL!
