Detroit Lions Player Prop Picks: Is Jameson Williams Poised For Breakout Season?
NFL training camps and the preseason are about making impressions. Third-year wide receiver Jameson Williams has reportedly made a striking one, giving some bettors further optimism when it comes to betting Lions odds. Head coach Dan Campbell and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson have expressed their excitement. After seeing glimpses of explosiveness late last season, his season-long player props may be worth a look while the betting apps are still relatively low on Williams.

Is A jameson williams Breakout season coming?
Quarterback Jared Goff has quite a few weapons at his disposal in what should be one of the league’s best offensive units. Top pass catchers Amon-Ra St. Brown and tight end Sam LaPorta return with high expectations after each turned in eye-opening performances a year ago. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is back as well and should have an impact in the passing game, as Cambell and Johnson will want to fully take advantage of his versatility.
So, where does that leave Jamo?
Vacated Targets
For starters, Josh Reynolds is gone (now with the Broncos). He was a first-down machine in Detroit last season on their way to cashing NFC North odds, finishing with 40 receptions for more than 600 yards. The second wide receiver spot is now up for grabs.
Williams appears to be gunning for it and the snap share that will come with it. Reynolds saw 832 snaps (70.63%) last season, while Williams only played 444 snaps (37.69%). This was partially due to Jamo’s slow start to the 2023 season after he was suspended for violating the NFL’s gambling policy. He was out until Week 5 against the Panthers.
St. Brown will certainly have extra eyeballs on him at all times after his 119 catch, 1,500+ yard season a year ago. With LaPorta and Gibbs commanding attention as well, that should leave opportunities for Goff to find Jamo downfield.
I also believe with a full camp under his belt, that his route tree will open up a bit. He could be much more than a deep ball threat for Ben Johnson. Look for him to pick up chunk plays on screens, deep curls, and maybe even a few Amon-Ra-style crossing routes, where he has the speed to catch with momentum and turn upfield for big gains.

How I’m Betting Lions WR Jameson Williams
I think the best value lies with Jamo’s yardage props. 750+ (+125) and even the alt 1,000+ receiving yards (+490) seem attainable, in my opinion. Yes it is lofty, and a big jump from last season. Think CHUNK PLAYS. As stated above, expect plenty of single coverage, increased snaps, and being a legit focal point in Ben Johnson’s offense. He would have to average 58.8 yards per game to reach 1,000. If he has really turned a corner, as coaches have implied, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few 100+ yard games in his future, which would certainly help that average.
