DeAndre Hopkins ‘Next NFL Team’ Odds: Titans Favored, But Patriots & Chiefs Loom

What’s the update on DeAndre Hopkins Odds?
Per the odds table, Tennessee is a -125 favorite among DeAndre Hopkins odds despite sitting at -300 on Tuesday. The latest odds are equivalent to a 55.6% implied probability. Meanwhile, New England went from +425 down to +200, and Kansas City (+225) is right behind them. Chiefs odds were +800 earlier in the week.
What’s changed? Let’s back track for starters. Hopkins met with the Pats in Foxborough, Mass. from June 14-15. Per NFL insider Jeff Howe, he had a “productive visit.” Although there was no deal on the table, Howe alluded to New England’s confidence building towards an eventual agreement with Hopkins. That notion came despite his meeting with Tennessee earlier that week.
Then, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that the Titans made a “more aggressive” offer than the Patriots on Sunday. This rumor appeared to have sealed the deal — until Hopkins left a comment on a Chris Jones’ Instagram photo. Hopkins’ cryptic message forced DraftKings to adjust their odds yet again.
While the betting market still correlates with Reiss’ reveal, exotics generally showcase as low of a betting limit as you’ll find. Therefore, the “steam” isn’t as noteworthy as it would be in markets that allow for much higher stakes.
How Would Hopkins Impact Tennessee?
Titans’ Super Bowl odds possess the largest discrepancy in the betting market. Following the most recent news, FanDuel Sportsbook showcases Tennessee at +7500 to claim the Lombardi Trophy in Las Vegas. Concurrently, PointsBet has Hopkins’ prospective new team set at +15000. Granted, the difference in implied probability is worth a measly 0.66 percentage points.
As for winning the AFC South, the most valuable Titans odds reside at DraftKings (+380). They’ve dipped 45 cents over the last few days to boot.
Despite Mike Vrabel’s bunch losing seven consecutive games to round out last season, it underwent a slew of defensive injuries. Jeffery Simmons, Denico Autry, Teair Tart, Arden Key, and Harold Landry still make up one of the league’s premier front sevens. It doesn’t hurt that Kevin Byard Amani Hooker are two of the top coverage safeties around. Combine those factors with former Buccaneers safety Sean Murphy-Bunting and the budding Kristian Fulton at corner, and Vrabel’s unit presents plenty of promise.
Moreover, veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill also missed the final three games of the campaign after sustaining a second injury to his right ankle. If Tannehill finds a way to stay healthy in 2023, the Titans’ offense has some upside with Hopkins’ potential impact.
Nevertheless, their offensive line remains a glaring issue — even with the presence of All-Pro tailback Derrick Henry. Below are Titans and Saints’ odds for their Week 1 clash.
