Trade rumors are swirling around Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, and DraftKings Sportsbook is offering odds in some states for those interested in betting on where Adams will play his first snap after the NFL trade deadline. A reunion with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets is favored over the field, but NFL insiders are confirming other teams as interested. Several members of TheLines.com staff have also offered their Davante Adams trade predictions.

Here’s the DraftKings Sportsbook betting market for those interested in putting money down on a Davante Adams trade prediction. Any winning bets will have to wait to be paid out until after the trade deadline, as the wording of the futures market states:

Davante Adams Trade Predictions From TheLines.com Staff

I’m not as dialed into the cap situations and trade assets as a lot of people, so I’m just going to go with the boring answer. It sounds like Davante Adams wants to go to the Jets. Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson don’t seem to be on the same page, so they might view Davante Adams as a good fit on the Jets to move Wilson down in the pecking order. The Jets seem to be all in on winning now, as they should be. So I’ll guess (and hope for my fantasy teams) that he winds up on the Jets.

Sometimes the favorite is the value. I think he winds up with the Jets, because they are the only team in the market with a general manager and head coach that care more about saving their jobs by making the playoffs than draft picks they may not be around to use. NFL insider Albert Breer also tweeted Wednesday, “Teams involved Davante Adams’ market have become convinced the Raiders star is focused on engineering a trade to the Jets. The Bills and Steelers are among those who’ve inquired with Vegas on Adams, per sources.” I have a hard time believing Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh would get outbid.

If you force me to pick a longer shot on the board, it would be the Bills.

UPDATE: I’ve now taken a small stab at Ravens 20-1 after Adams posted a picture of Baltimore poet Edgar Allen Poe, author of “The Raven”. Very, very inside sources, I know.

The Bills have been linked to Adams by Albert Breer, and they have every incentive to get this done. The departure of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis have left their receiver room young and inexperienced. The Bills just got a wakeup call that their offense can go cold against good defenses. And they have the assets to get it done.

They have an extra second round pick this upcoming year from the Diggs trade. They can package that with either of their two fourth rounders or their two sixth rounders if needed. More importantly, the Bills could stop the Jets from getting him. The Jets getting Adams would bolster their chief rival for the AFC East and put Buffalo’s playoff path at risk. Between their needs and the chance to separate in the AFC East, this is a no brainer.

A sneaky team to watch out for in the Adams sweepstakes is the Dallas Cowboys. Mike McCarthy coached Adams in Green Bay, so a reunion wouldn’t be out of the question. The team lacks a true No. 2 option behind Lamb, especially with Brandin Cooks’ steady decline and current injury issue (knee infection).

Money is a minor factor into this situation, as the team just paid CeeDee Lamb a four-year $136 million extension two months ago. The assumption around the league has been that Dallas will pay edge rusher Micah Parsons this offseason, but that may not necessarily happen. Parsons has tallied 12 pressures, but only one sack through four games. He’s already hurt and performing below expectations, so the team may let him walk and lean into the offensive side of the ball by acquiring Adams.

Keep in mind the Raiders and Cowboys already have recent trade history. In 2018, Jerry Jones sent a first-round pick for star receiver Amari Cooper. Mike McCarthy has a 45-30 record as the Dallas head coach, but most importantly, is 1-3 in the postseason, including last year’s embarrassing 48-32 loss to the Packers. Outside of Saleh in New York, there may not be another coach with more pressure to win now than McCarthy. I think the Cowboys are worth a sprinkle to trade for Adams.

Davante Adams Hamstring Injury

Davante Adams is also on the Raiders injury report with a hamstring issue that will keep him out a second consecutive week against the Broncos in Denver.

Insiders are being told the injury is legitimate, and if so, that could also potentially delay a deal getting done. If teams want to ensure Adams is healthy first before trading picks and restructuring his contract, this may drag out until closer to the November 5th trade deadline.

With Adams out of the lineup, the Raiders will likely rely more on rookie tight end Brock Bowers, veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, and rookie speedster Tre Tucker, who is already earning more playing time and targets from QB Gardner Minshew.
