Davante Adams Next-Team NFL Odds: Will WR Return To Green Bay Packers?

Davante Adams odds

Now that the Eagles have been crowned Super Bowl champs, it's time for all 32 NFL teams to shift their focus to the offseason. One unsurprising domino that fell was the Jets releasing Davante Adams. He didn't seem to be a fit for a rebuilding that booted his best friend out the door. In turn, DraftKings Sportsbook has released next-team odds for Davante Adams.

Which teams do the oddsmakers at DK think have the best chance of landing the still-productive veteran if he decides to continue playing? Read on to find out.

Why Did Jets Release Davante Adams?

Adams will now enter free agency after the Jets cut him. Not only was Adams an awkward fit at best on the rebuilding Jets at age 32, but he had a hefty cap hit north of $38 million. It didn't make financial sense for the Jets to hang on here, as they're no longer all in after sending Aaron Rodgers packing.

Additionally, no team would give up draft capital to take on that contract.

He's now free to sign with any team. Something like the Mike Evans deal (two years, $41 million) might make sense.

A Return To Packers?

Surprisingly, the Packers have become a relatively clear favorite in the Davante Adams odds. With over $40 million in space, per Over The Cap, they certainly have the dough to lure Adams back into the fold.

Green Bay does need a top receiver. Although their current roster carries plenty of competent ones, it's composed mainly of WR2s and WR3s.

Whether Adams fits the WR1 mold at this point in his career is an open question. He recently cracked 1,000 yards last year (1,063) and hasn't made the Pro Bowl since 2022.

Additionally, Green Bay wouldn't appear a great fit on several levels.

Adams already forced his way out of town once. Teams generally don't trip over themselves to bring a player like that back. They also have a well-established history of not spending big on veteran free agents.

Which other teams might take a chance on the three-time All-Pro?

Giants, L.A. Teams Bear Watching

The Chargers have been on the radar for seemingly every available top WR this offseason. Rookie slot man Ladd McConkey led the unit, so they need a legitimate outside threat.

However, Jim Harbaugh clearly prefers building through the trenches. Maybe he's ready to spend time on the outside, but the team still helps on the interior offensive line.

After cutting Cooper Kupp loose -- though a trade has yet to materialize -- and securing a commitment in the Matthew Stafford contract, the Rams make a sensible destination. They have plenty of cap space ($49M) and are clearly in win-now mode.

Watch out for the Giants here as well. Team brass is under pressure to turn things around. The Giants can afford to sign Adams. And perhaps most importantly, they're the odds-on favorites to sign Rodgers. The Rodgers-Adams bromance could continue in New York with a palette switch from green to blue.
