The market has a clear favorite here: the Miami Dolphins. Miami would make sense for several reasons. First, the team does not have a particularly inspiring two-deep, featuring the oft-injured Raheem Mostert and the ultra-fungible Jeff Wilson Jr. Notably, though, they did draft De’Von Achane out of Texas A&M.
But perhaps most importantly, Cook originally hails from Florida. He’s from Miami and played his college ball a few hundred miles north at Florida State.
Three other teams on this list stand out as good fits due to entering the season with injured starters. Crucially, on that note, Cook himself told Rich Eisen that getting the ball is a top priority, no surprise with his career possibly winding down at age 28.
“I want somebody that wants me to be there and give me the ball,” he said. “I just want to go into the right situation so I can go help somebody win.”
Denver, New York Jets and Dallas all have unsettled RB situations, at least to start the year. Each of Javonte Williams, Breece Hall and Tony Pollard, respectively, figures to start the season either still on the shelf or at least being eased back in after season-ending injuries in 2022. That means Cook could open the season as the primary back in all three spots before dropping into more of a timeshare.

Any Possible Longshots In Dalvin Cook Odds?
Looking further down the board, does any longshot make sense for Dalvin Cook odds?
One team does stand out a bit as combining a potential fit with a bigger payout. The Jacksonville Jaguars could certainly use Cook as a co-lead back along with Travis Etienne Jr. Etienne has not been the picture of health, and third-round rookie Tank Bigsby is currently listed as his backup.
Jacksonville also fits the bill as a win-now team — teams out of their competitive windows would seem unlikely to spend any resources on Cook.
Furthermore, Jacksonville would allow Cook to play in his home state and help a team that has a real shot at contention.
At +5000, they may be worth a punt.
What Does Cook Have Left?
Cook had his worst season as a pro last year. It looks like the clock is ticking on his time as an effective back, if indeed any such time remains.
While he’s still an effective receiver, Cook did far less damage than normal running the ball. Not only was his 4.4 YPA a career-worst, but Cook experienced a major decline in his ability to gain yards outside of what the scheme and blocking provided. He produced 1.8 yards after contact, a middling number, and his rushes per broken tackle plunged to 22. Cook’s numbers there have now plunged in back-to-back years, a worrying sign.
Basically, no matter which team opts to take a chance on Cook, bettors should keep expectations heavily in check. Both in terms of Cook’s own futures markets, and the chance he moves the needle in any meaningful way, don’t expect much.
