The Word On Cyberknife

May 3: – Trainer Brad Cox: “I’m happy with all three draws. I think with the Derby starting at the head of the stretch, and a quarter of a mile to the first turn, they’ll be able to get into position.”

Betting insight from Dave Bontempo

A tough showing in the Risen Star Takes placed Cyberknife sixth, but the three-year-old colt is hitting his stride at the right time. He notched a win in a good rebound effort, though it came via a major drop into allowance company.

Cyberknife charged back with a victory in the high-profile Arkansas Derby, opting for it over the Florida Derby the same weekend. He got the jump on the Arkansas Derby favorite– Secret Oath (6/5)– and ensured his lead was strong enough over the homestretch to fend off the surging Secret Oath.

The trick is adding another 1/8 mile onto his career-high distance (1 1/8) in the upcoming Kentucky Derby, but Cyberknife appeared comfortable in his career-high distance run.
