The Rams have struggled mightily this season but one carryover from last year’s Super Bowl campaign has been the production from star WR Cooper Kupp. Despite being the focal point of opposing defenses week-in and week-out, Kupp still managed to catch 75 balls for 812 yards in nine games played this season. The 29-year-old went down with a high ankle sprain in mid-November and had surgery on November 16. Here we will look into when will Cooper Kupp return and be back on the field for the Rams. We will dish out a timeline for Kupp’s recovery below.

When will Cooper Kupp return and be back on the field for Rams?
Update: Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Dec. 13 that he “would be hard pressed to see any scenario that (Kupp) would play again this year.
Here we will answer the question as to when will Cooper Kupp return and be back on the field for the Rams. The initial timeline for Kupp’s recovery was 5-6 weeks. Five weeks since the surgery will be December 21. Six weeks will be December 28. Here is a look at the Rams schedule around that time.
- Week 17 January 1: Rams vs. Chargers
- Week 18 January 8: Rams vs. Seahawks
It remains a distinct possibility that the Rams shut down Kupp for the remainder of the season given that it would take a miracle for LA to make a push towards the playoffs.
Kupp did tweet immediately after the injury that he was “gonna get this thing fixed, then get back to work to get back to work!”
But given Kupp’s importance to the Rams organization, it is likely that the WR will not see the field again this season.
