Boston College (ML) vs Pittsburgh

Odds: +210 (via Bet365)

Sure, Boston College is 1-3 on the season, but two of their three losses were in close contests that came within a combined six points. The Eagles are better than their record, and this is shaping up to be an upset game.

Pittsburgh has only won games against significantly inferior opponents this season, and I’m not buying their performance against the only two decent teams the Panthers have played, as both ended in losses. At these odds, this is a great spot to be riding with Boston College.

Syracuse (+17.5) vs SMU

Odds: -115 (via BetMGM)

Syracuse was blown out last week by Duke, in a game that was supposed to be close. There’s no question that the Orange have been inconsistent all season, but when they’re on, there’s a lot to like about this football team.

SMU is also a quality opponent who is clearly being respected by oddsmakers with this 17.5-point spread, but the Mustangs aren’t that much better than Syracuse. Part of me wants to take the Orange as an outright money line pick here, but the spread feels like a lock and a safer bet.

Virginia (ML) vs Louisville

Virginia has been a scrappy underdog all season, and this is another spot where the Cavaliers can punch above their weight. The Cavaliers upset Florida State last week in a down-to-the-wire contest, which landed them in the Top 25 this week.
