college football look-ahead lines

Don’t look now, but odds for Rivalry Week — the final week of the regular season — are live at the best sports betting sites. Most college football games next weekend have look-ahead lines posted, so let’s dive into the most anticipated matchups. Plenty of seats at the conference championship table will remain vacant, as well as spots in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, to make this blockbuster week even heavier. Clear your schedules. We’re in for a hell of a finish.

Games of particular interest include Texas-Texas A&M, Ohio State-Michigan, and Notre Dame-USC. Let’s dive into the full look-ahead lines for Week 14 of the college football season.

College Football Week 14 Look-Ahead Lines

Here are the best available opening odds across several betting apps.

Memphis at No. 20 Tulane, Thursday (7:30 p.m., ESPN)

Unfortunately, this game doesn’t hold the same weight schedulers and fans might have hoped it would in the summer. The AAC championship game is set, and Tulane has a spot at the table. Memphis is firmly out of the College Football Playoff running. But Tulane is still very much in it — there’s even an outside chance the Green Wave will boot the Big 12 out of the CFP completely — and Memphis could play spoiler. There’s still some intrigue on the table, and it’s our lone college football game on Thanksgiving this year.

Both teams sit on bye in Week 13, meaning this line won’t move beyond market influence.

  • Opening odds: Tulane -12.5, O/U 55.5

Mississippi State at No. 9 Ole Miss, Friday (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC)

Note the kickoff time for the Egg Bowl this year — it was moved from its traditional Thanksgiving night time slot. Mississippi State can bounce Ole Miss from the College Football Playoff. Given that the game’s played in Oxford and that State ranks 113th in point margin this year, an upset here is unlikely. The Rebels visit Florida in Week 13, while the Bulldogs host Missouri. If the chalk plays out, there’s likely not much to adjust with this line.

However, keep an eye on both Week 13 games. Either one can pull an upset, particularly in Starkville, and that could reopen this line very differently than it’s currently lined.

  • Opening odds: Ole Miss -27.5, O/U 60.5

Georgia Tech at No. 10 Georgia, Friday (7:30 p.m., ABC)

Like most years recently, Clean, Old Fashioned Hate isn’t expected to be a nail-biter. Georgia has struggled against good defenses this year and on the road, neither component of which is at play in Week 14. That game could, however, feature some offense, especially through the air. Watch for the injury statuses of QB Haynes King and RB Jamal Haynes. Both players missed games leading into Week 12. Without King, Tech struggles offensively.

The Dawgs need help getting to the SEC Championship game but are still very much alive. They host UMass this weekend. Tech visits NC State on Thursday.

  • Opening odds: Georgia -19.5, O/U 54.5

No. 18 South Carolina at No. 17 Clemson, Saturday (noon ET, ESPN)

Since 2016, the Palmetto Bowl has been all Clemson, often in convincing fashion. However, South Carolina nipped Clemson in 2022, re-sparking the rivalry aspect of this game. The Tigers still have ACC championship aspirations, though their ACC slate is exhausted, and they need either SMU or Miami to fall in the next two weeks. With three losses, South Carolina can only play spoiler for other teams; the Gamecocks are pretty locked into a high, non-playoff bowl.

Odds for this game vary by points at different books. Both teams host FCS foes this weekend, so barring a massive upset, don’t expect those games to impact the current odds. Everything from here on out will be market- or news-driven.

  • Opening odds: Clemson -3.5, O/U 48.5

Michigan at No. 2 Ohio State, Saturday (noon ET, Fox)

The biggest rivalry in sports plays out at its traditional noon time. Ohio State looks to break a three-game losing streak to Michigan — a move likely to determine Ryan Day’s future in Columbus. The Buckeyes have compounding injuries on the offensive line that got worse before Week 13 when starting center Seth McLaughlin went down with an Achilles injury at practice. Now, the reshuffled offensive line plays two of the best defensive fronts in football in consecutive weeks.

Michigan still doesn’t have a viable quarterback but relies on its stout defense to keep games close. The Wolverines played Indiana to its closest finish of the year in Week 11. Watch for the availability of All-American corner Will Johnson. He missed several games in the back half of the season, including against IU. Also, monitor how the Buckeyes line fares against Indiana this weekend.

We could be looking at a defensive struggle in Columbus for the 120th edition of The Game.

  • Opening odds: Ohio State -10, O/U 44.5

Auburn at No. 7 Alabama, Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC)

Despite multi-score spreads in recent years, the Iron Bowl never shorted excitement. Auburn covered two of the last three contests and three of the last five, including an outright win in 2019. What is the common thread for all of those games? They all took place at Jordan-Hare Stadium. This one will play out in Tuscaloosa, but it also features a coach other than Nick Saban on the Alabama sideline for the first time since 2006.

Auburn’s QB situation is among the most dire in the country. Payton Thorne, who was benched midseason and returned as the starter, dealt with injury ahead of Week 13 and sat out an entire week’s worth of practice on Auburn’s bye. The Tigers will host Texas A&M (see below) in Week 13, while Alabama will visit Oklahoma. Those games are worth monitoring as both could move this line significantly at reopen.

  • Opening odds: Alabama -15, O/U 52.5

No. 3 Texas at No. 15 Texas A&M, Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC)

What’s the one game on the slate that might dwarf The Game and the Iron Bowl? How about the revival of the rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M? And just for good measure, let’s make it have massive implications on the SEC championship matchup and the College Football Playoff. Barring a trip-up in Week 13, this game is the perfect storm.

The Longhorns host Kentucky while the Aggies visit Auburn — which Mike Elko is focused on — this weekend. This line matured through the preseason after originally being posted in the summer. Expect this to be one of the sharpest games on the slate, with so much focus on it. As such, barring a disaster from either team in Week 13, the odds likely won’t move that much.

  • Opening odds: Texas -4, O/U 50.5

No. 6 Notre Dame at USC, Saturday (FLEX)

The Jeweled Shillelagh traded hands in the last three seasons, with the home team winning each game. But these teams are in vastly different places than the last three years. USC has no real answer at QB — Jayden Maiava got his first start in Week 12 against Nebraska — and sits at 5-5 on the year. Notre Dame recovered well from a shocking Week 2 loss to NIU, climbing back into the top six nationally despite a rash of injuries to key contributors on both sides of the ball. Should the season end today, Notre Dame would host a playoff game.

Both teams play difficult matches in Week 13. Notre Dame plays top-20 Army at Yankee Stadium, while USC plays crosstown rival UCLA. Should the Irish repeat their showing against Navy this weekend, we could see this line move quickly.

  • Opening odds: Notre Dame -3.5, O/U 52.5

Washington at No. 1 Oregon, Saturday (FLEX)

Oregon hasn’t lost to a team not named Washington since 2022. The Huskies bested the Ducks in both games last year. But Washington was gutted for all its parts this offseason and enters Week 13 at 6-5. Given Dan Lanning’s track record, this game could get ugly fast for Washington.

Both teams have byes this week. That’s welcome rest for Oregon, which recently missed DE Jordan Burch and WR Tez Johnson in the lineup in multiple games. Exhaustion was setting in as the Ducks escaped with a 16-13 win at Wisconsin in Week 12, their eighth straight conference game.

  • Opening odds: Oregon -20, O/U 51.5
