Notre Dame vs. Ohio State ODDS

FanDuel Sportsbook released hypothetical odds for the championship game before the CFP semifinal round ended. It lined Ohio State as a -8.5 favorite over Notre Dame.

The Fighting Irish secured their spot in Atlanta with a thrilling victory over Penn State in the Orange Bowl. Notre Dame’s defense snagged an interception with 44 seconds left in a tie game, turned around, and kicked the game-winning field goal with 12 seconds remaining. QB Riley Leonard didn’t play his best game, but the second-half run game and defense battened down the hatches for a 27-24 win.

Despite an ugly game for the most part, Ohio State’s defense led the way to a semifinal victory. Jack Sawyer sealed the game with an 82-yard strip sack, aided by two Quinshon Judkins touchdowns. Will Howard played his worst postseason game, being limited downfield by a two-high look from Texas, but he did pick up a game-altering fourth down with his legs. While not the flash fry we’ve seen from the Buckeyes in the first two rounds, Ohio State showed its ability to win a rock fight. Caleb Downs secured the victory with a game-ending interception.

Ohio State commanded a disproportionate portion of the bets and handle leading into the Cotton Bowl. Given its performance in this semifinal, watch for more Notre Dame backing than if Ohio State rolled Texas leading up to kickoff.
