Week 5 of the college football season offers one of the most anticipated games on the entire schedule: No. 2 Georgia at No. 4 Alabama. While much of the day’s coverage is sure to focus on that SEC blockbuster, it’s far from the only game of interest. Many sportsbooks already offer look-ahead lines for the entire college football slate. Other games to note include Virginia Tech at No. 8 Miami (FL), No. 17 Louisville at No. 19 Notre Dame, and No. 14 Oklahoma State at No. 13 Kansas State.

Here are the best available opening odds across several betting apps.

College Football Week 5 Look-Ahead Lines

Virginia Tech at No. 8 Miami (FL), Friday (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Friday night’s top game features Virginia Tech (2-1) at Miami (3-0). This game opened up Hurricanes -8.5 in the offseason and re-opened -14 after three convincing results from Miami. Virginia Tech (-13.5) dropped its opening game to Vanderbilt outright and brings a 1-2 ATS record against the closing number. Miami, conversely, is 3-0 ATS, leaving absolutely no doubt about its prowess against lesser opponents early on. The Hokies (-3.5) host Rutgers in Week 4 with a couple injury concerns to RB Bhayshul Tuten and WR Ali Jennings. Miami (-16.5) visits USF.

The Hurricanes lead the all-time series, 25-15, including wins in each of the last three meetings.

No. 19 Louisville at No. 17 Notre Dame, Saturday (3:30 p.m., NBC)

No more getting caught peeking – after a shocking loss to Northern Illinois, Notre Dame is taking its schedule one game at a time. In Week 4, the Irish host Miami (OH) and Louisville hosts Georgia Tech. Last year, the Cardinals delivered a convincing loss to Notre Dame, winning 33-20. ND recorded a season-low 44 rush yards, its worst output since the 2022 Fiesta Bowl. Week 4’s results likely have a heavy impact on this line, which sits north of a field goal but under a touchdown. Louisville’s result is likely much more volatile than Notre Dame’s, so watch for this line to grow or remain consistent (barring another shocker from ND).

Fresno State at UNLV, Saturday (3:30 p.m., FS1)

The last three matchups between UNLV and Fresno State were decided by a single possession. Last year, the Bulldogs (-9) won at home, 31-24 and again in Las Vegas the year prior (also -9, 37-30). The Rebels began the Year 3-0 with wins at Houston and Kansas. Fresno State hung with Michigan in the opening weekend – a late pick-six put the game away – and recorded convincing wins over FCS Sacramento State and New Mexico State. This week, Fresno visits pesky New Mexico while UNLV rests on a bye week. The Bulldogs rank 18th in defense EPA through three games, but New Mexico might offer the offense most likely to put points up on this unit yet.

North Carolina at Duke, Saturday (4:00 p.m., ESPN2)

North Carolina leads the all-time series in this rivalry, 64-41-4. The Tar Heels are also 14-3 on the road against Duke since 1990 (8-5 ATS). Duke is 3-0 on the year, perhaps ahead of where they were expected to be, thanks to a solid defense and a favorable schedule. The Blue Devils visit Middle Tennessee in Week 4 (-14.5) while UNC hosts James Madison (-10.5). Given this line sits in a nebulous void near a pick ’em, the market likely moves this line around. But barring a shocking result from either side in Week 4, neither team likely takes firm control of the spread.

QB Conner Harrell makes his third start against an FBS opponent here.

No. 2 Georgia at No. 4 Alabama, Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC)

The blockbuster matchup of the week, and possibly the year, shakes out in Tuscaloosa. Georgia opened a -2.5 road favorite over Alabama in a rematch of last year’s SEC Championship. Alabama won that game, 27-24.

No. 15 Oklahoma at Auburn, Saturday (TBA)

Oklahoma makes its first trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium in program history. The Sooners and Tigers played twice before, both times in the Sugar Bowl and both times won by Oklahoma (2017, 1972). In Week 4, Oklahoma finds itself a touchdown underdog to Tennessee at home while Auburn is a field goal favorite over Arkansas at home. Savvy bettors with a pulse on either team would be wise to bet this line to get ahead of incoming adjustments following Week 4 results (or wait to get their best number).

No. 14 Oklahoma State at No. 13 Kansas State, Saturday (TBA)

Oklahoma State did themselves no favors scheduling back-to-back Big 12 favorites. This line could move pretty significantly depending on Week 4’s outcomes. The Pokes host No. 12 Utah in one of the biggest matchups on the Big 12 calendar while the Wildcats travel to unbeaten BYU. By the time the dust settles on this game, Oklahoma State will either be the conference favorite or nearly out of the running. For those interested in the Big 12 landscape, this is the highlight of the day for you.
