College Football Best Bets, Odds, Picks, & Player Props for Dec. 24
The College Football bowl games have been extremely entertaining so far, with three games having decorated our slate yesterday. Most notably, Ohio upset UNLV, continuing the MAC's reign over the college football bowl season.
Today, there's only one game on tap, with Hawaii hosting Cal in the Hawaii Bowl. Oh, to be spending Christmas in Hawaii...
Below are our best college football bets today across sports betting apps and with the latest sportsbook promotions, starting with game lines before diving into anytime touchdown scorers and player props.
Game Lines
Hawaii -1.5 (-108)
🏈Odds via FanDuel📈
It'd be easier to say that an ACC team should roll over a team from the Mountain West. But we have Hawaii smoking the Golden Bears today. Why?
Let's look at their two common opponents this season: Stanford and San Diego State. Hawaii upset Stanford 23-20 on the opening day of the season, while Cal got whipped 31-10. Hawaii routed San Diego State 38-6 while Cal were embarassed against the Aztecs, losing 34-0.
The one big miss for Hawaii is superstar wide receiver Jackson Harris, who has entered the transfer portal after nearly 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
Hawaii are also at home. This line is likely set on prejudice rather than actual standard. Slam Hawaii in this one.
Under 50.5 (-110)
🏈Odds via FanDuel📈
Hawaii has gone under this number in each of its last three games, and if this game goes in Hawaii's favor, we're looking at a potentially low-scoring game from the Golden Bears.
Anytime Touchdown Scorers
Kendrick Raphael Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-250)
🏈Odds via Caesars Sportsbook📈
Raphael has been one of the lone bright spots for Cal this season, contributing 13 touchdowns in his first season with the school following his transfer from North Carolina State, where he practically lived on the bench.
Raphael has also been upping his receiving numbers in recent weeks. Even if Cal loses today, he should be the one scoring their touchdowns.
Pofele Ashlock Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-136)
🏈Odds via Caesars Sportsbook📈
With Jackson Harris having left for the transfer portal, Ashlock now becomes the next man up. There are a ton of yards and touchdowns to go around, and Ashlock has been plenty consistent in the last three years, putting up 600 yards and six touchdowns every year.
Landon Sims Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+185)
🏈Odds via FanDuel📈
We love Sims as our plus-money pick in this one. Even though he's been in a split-back system, he can attack as a dual threat. With Harris out, he may get a few more touches than usual and get rewarded with a touchdown.
Player Props
Pofele Ashlock Over 74.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
🏈Odds via FanDuel📈
Ashlock has averaged about 59 yards receiving a game this season, which has been largely skewed by three underwhelming performances across Hawaii's 12 games this season. He's crossed over 70 yards receiving in three of his last six outings and won't have to compete with Jackson Harris today.
Kendrick Raphael Under 106.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-114)
🏈Odds via FanDuel📈
FanDuel are offering Raphael's O/U at 77.5 rushing yards and 22.5 receiving yards, so betting the combined under prop is already printing about 6% value before you even place the bet. Furthermore, we expect Hawaii's defense to step up, having held opponents to 23 or fewer points in seven of 12 games this season.
Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele Over 279.5 Passing Yards (-114)
🏈Odds via FanDuel📈
The Cal quarterback gets to his native Hawaii for both the bowl game and the holidays. The human element is important when deciding on these kinds of props. This could be the only time he gets to play in front of a large group of friends and family, in a bowl game at that. We will smash this over.
