College Football Best Bets, Odds, Picks & Player Props for Dec. 13
College football bowl season is officially underway, though there's plenty of uncertainty about what the future of the sport will look like as more star players opt out and the College Football Playoff continues to grow.
For now, we still have 36 traditional bowl games to run alongside the 12-team CFP, though these bowl games have lost their meaning and luster in recent years.
For today, December 13th, a pair of bowl games kick off bowl season. This is pretty noteworthy, given that the annual Army-Navy football game is also on today, a game that had traditionally been the sole marquee game of the entire weekend.
Today, we will cover the Cricket Celebration Bowl, the Bucked Up LA Bowl, and the Army-Navy game.

Game Lines
South Carolina State ML (+105) vs Prairie View A&M

This is a glorious matchup between the champions of the MEAC and the SWAC in what's technically an FCS battle, though it's widely recognized as a standard bowl game.
It's become a phenomenal kickoff to the college bowl season, and gained huge popularity back when Deion Sanders was coaching Jackson State.
This is the first Celebration Bowl appearance for Prairie View A&M, while South Carolina State makes back-to-back appearances and their third overall. While they lost 28-7 against Jackson State last season, they beat the Tigers by a 31-10 margin in 2021.
Prairie View are slight 1.5-point favorites, but having pulled off an upset to get here and given their lack of big-game experience, it may hold them back tonight.
Boise State vs Washington -10 (-110)

Last year, Boise State found themselves in the College Football Playoff as a three-seed, given a first-round bye into the quarterfinals. The year before, Washington were in the CFP championship game.
A lot can change in two years, and now these two teams find themselves playing in the opening weekend of bowl season after both losing four games during the regular season. Though Boise State won the Mountain West Conference for the third year in a row, they were nowhere close to securing one of the automatic seeds, as Tulane and James Madison were far superior.
Washington are clear favorites in this one, and quarterback Demond Williams Jr. is incredibly talented, though his size (5'10") may keep him from succeeding in the NFL. Some projections do have him going in either the first or second round in the 2027 NFL draft, while others believe he should fall to Day 3 because of his height.
This is a fantastic opportunity to prove himself to the NFL scouts while the whole world watches. I fully expect him to throw for three-to-four touchdowns as Washington routs the Broncos.
Army at Navy -6.5 (-114)

The 126th career meeting between the Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights takes place in Baltimore on Saturday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens.
Though in some years this has been a game of laughingstocks or one team has been far better than the other, both teams have qualified for bowls after very good seasons. Last year was the same, and Army were ranked #22 in the nation prior to Navy pulling off the upset.
This season, Navy are 9-2 and could have back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time in school history, while Army have won five out of their last seven to come into today at 6-5.
Navy have already accepted a bid to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, where they will face the Cincinnati Bearcats. Army, meanwhile, will face UConn in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl.
Of course, both of these offenses are run-heavy, though Navy is far more explosive than Army. In fact, the Midshipmen have 2.5x the number of 20+ yard runs than the Black Knights this season (30-12.)
Navy is the clear choice today, look for them to run the ball 40-50 times today with Braxton Woodson, Alex Tecza, and Blake Horvath running the option.
