College Basketball Odds, Picks, Predictions Tuesday: Will Georgia Upset Texas A&M?

Texas A&M Georgia Odds

On Tuesday’s college basketball odds board, the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies (18-5, 7-3) host the Georgia Bulldogs (16-8, 4-7) at Reed Arena in College Station. Only the Aggies find themselves in my college basketball power rankings, and they opened as 8.5-point favorites after Saturday’s upset win at Missouri. Let’s assess the odds for Georgia at Texas A&M, including options for your same-game parlay.

college basketball best bets: Georgia ATS

With SEC play heating up, I’ve circled this matchup as a buy-low, sell-high spot. If you’re unfamiliar with situational spots, they aim to uncover conditions where teams have surpassed or fallen short of their standard efficiency — relative to the moneyline or point spread.

Following Wade Taylor IV’s walk-off triple against Mizzou, the betting market has inflated this line per my raw numbers. While I’ve been high on Buzz Williams’ squad since I placed a Final Four futures bet in December, it’s outperforming its ShotQuality at the third-highest rate nationally.

Enter the Bulldogs, fresh off six losses in their last eight games, including Saturday’s nail-biter versus Mississippi State. Unlike Texas A&M, Georgia is a borderline NCAA tournament team, making this game a massive opportunity to boost its resume.

Mike White’s crew has also begun to undergo positive shooting regression despite hitting only 28.9% of its 3-point attempts in SEC action.

Who Let The ‘Dogs Out?

The Aggies are statistically the best offensive-rebounding unit in the country, tallying 13.4 per contest. Nevertheless, Georgia, led by 6-foot-11 freshman Asa Newell, has the length and physicality to mitigate second-chance opportunities. Moreover, its pick-and-roll defense grades in the 58th percentile on a points-per-possession basis (via Synergy), a key against Texas A&M’s heavy ball-screen action.

If the Bulldogs’ top-25 defense plays to its ceiling, their fast-break attack will reap the benefits. Scoring on the Aggies’ havoc-driven defense is arduous, but they settle below the D-I average in transition.

Suppose the spread comes down the wire. Texas A&M’s 300th-ranked free-throw clip (68.2%) could assist Georgia’s effort to cover.

Per the SEC injury report, Georgia starting two-guard Dakota Leffew (undisclosed) and reserve Tyrin Lawrence (undisclosed) will miss this game.
