College Basketball Odds & Picks: 2 Best Bets, Including Tennessee At Texas A&M

With less than one month until Selection Sunday, college basketball odds have captured the spotlight. I’ll highlight two SEC situational spots for Saturday’s slate, attempting to uncover circumstances in which teams often exceed or fall short of their usual efficiency — relative to the moneyline or point spread. Let’s evaluate the odds for No. 6 Tennessee at No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 24 Ole Miss at Vanderbilt, including a few options for your same-game parlays.

College Basketball Best Bet: Texas A&M ATS
Despite fading Texas A&M twice last week, I remain bullish on the Aggies. Regular readers of our college hoops coverage may remember my Final Four futures bet on Buzz Williams’ squad from mid-December.
After the Aggies’ 14-point loss at Mississippi State, I expect a bounce-back effort against a Vols defense that is vulnerable on the glass and ripe for negative 3-point variance, allowing the third-lowest clip (28.3%) nationally. Analytically speaking, Texas A&M is only reliable in one of those categories, generating the highest offensive rebounding rate in D-I. Still, Wade Taylor & Co. should generate clean catch-and-shoot opportunities in transition, where Tennessee isn’t nearly as tough to score on.
How can they manufacture some of those looks? Vols point guard Zakai Ziegler is tallying a career-high 21.8% turnover rate — a death sentence against Buzz Williams’ havoc-driven defense. Given the Aggies’ formidable ball pressure, they’re also elite at denying dribble hand-offs, otherwise known as zoom action, a staple of Tennessee’s attack.
In a ruckus Reed Arena, the Aggies are well-positioned to pull away with a home victory.
Final Betting Thoughts
I bet on Texas A&M +1.5 (up to -120 ML) ahead of this top-10 SEC tilt. You’ll find this wager on our free sports betting Discord channel. Users can enroll in push notifications by heading to the #roles server to receive instant alerts whenever anyone from TheLines.com staff places a bet.
Best of luck with your bets on Tennessee at Texas A&M odds!

College Basketball Best Bet: Ole Miss ATS
On the surface, Vanderbilt has an edge situationally — faced with a must-win scenario after playing its way onto the March Madness bubble. Nevertheless, Ole Miss was gifted a week to recoup after its dismal effort against Mississippi State, losing outright as 3.5-point home favorites. The Rebels can’t afford another setback with Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida on deck.
Although Chris Beard’s bunch is exploitable on the boards, the Commodores are not constructed to take advantage. Instead, their offense thrives off live-ball turnovers, which are difficult to come by versus Ole Miss, taking care of the rock at the most efficient rate across D-I.
Conversely, the Rebels’ no-middle scheme should limit Vandy’s pick-and-roll proficiency and dribble penetration, its primary source of offense, considering it ranks 242nd in 3-point shooting (32.5%).
Unless the Commodores’ marksmen deliver some home cooking from the perimeter, I’ll look to jump on the road team if the betting market inflates this line with Vanderbilt in desperation mode. Ole Miss should greatly benefit from a reset, especially regarding veteran wing Matthew Murrell, who has dealt with a lingering knee injury.
A trio of Vanderbilt’s five conference wins have come by nine combined points. Just how fortunate are the Commodores?
