Wisconsin boasts the 11th-ranked Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (per KenPom), and its opponents are shooting just 23.4% from behind the arc. Although Greg Gard’s teams have been reliable at that end of the court, the latter percentage isn’t sustainable.
According to ShotQuality, teams should be dialing up a 33.0% 3-point clip against Wisconsin. Enter Wake Forest, which utilizes a motion offense under Steve Forbes, stressing misdirection around the perimeter.
The Demon Deacons possess capable shooters at every position — led by Florida transfer Tyree Appleby thus far. Two-guard Daivien Williamson paced them in 3-point shooting last season, but he’s questionable with a back injury. Even if he doesn’t suit up, Damari Monsanto would provide Forbes with another floor spacer in Williamson’s place.

Moreover, the Badgers’ offense ranks No. 275 in half-court efficiency. Their most reliable facet stems from low-post touches via Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl. But Forbes showcases the frontcourt to combat that, especially after reeling in Delaware transfer Andrew Carr.
Assuming Wake Forest generates enough stops, it’ll be in position to speed up Wisconsin while manufacturing clean perimeter looks in the process.
