College Basketball Best Bets Today: Top-10 Battle Between Michigan and Michigan State
We're about six weeks away from March Madness, and the top teams in the land need to stay strong to land a top seed in the tournament. We have an interstate rivalry match between #3 Michigan (19-1, 9-1) and #7 Michigan State (19-2, 9-1) tonight that will dominate the landscape.
While there's no Paul Bunyan Trophy to play for, these two teams do not like each other, and while they've met nearly 200 times, tonight marks the fourth top-10 matchup all time between the two schools.
Michigan State have won the last four games overall, but this year, Michigan is clearly one of the best teams in all of college basketball. The Wolverines handed #5 Nebraska their first loss of the season earlier in the week, while the Spartans were pushed to the brink, needing overtime to knock off sub-500 Rutgers.
In other ranked action, #21 Saint Louis (20-1, 8-0) hosts the Dayton Flyers (14-7, 5-3) in Atlantic-10 action. The Villanova Wildcats (15-5, 6-3) nearly beat #2 UConn last week and appear to be one of the best unranked schools in all the land. They host Providence (9-12, 2-8) in Big East play tonight.

All of Villanova's losses have been against ranked teams and Creighton, a school that constantly shows up for big games. The Wildcats were less than a minute away from knocking off the #2 UConn Huskies and ending their 14-game winning streak before losing in overtime.
However, Providence are much better than its 9-12 record suggests. They've kept it close in just about every game they've played this season, including twice against UConn, an upset over #25 St. John's, and only losing by six against Villanova two-and-a-half weeks ago.
We anticipate another close battle as Providence enters the easier side of its schedule. While they're certainly long shots to make March Madness, it's not impossible. We're not comfortable advising you to bet on the Friars to win, but we can say that +350 is a ton of value.

If Michigan State can be clean with the basketball, they can do some serious damage against the Wolverines tonight. The Spartans have the psychological advantage, having won four straight against Michigan, and will be playing at home in front of a raucous crowd, which could be enough to give them the edge.
Jeremy Fears Jr. is extremely good and could be joining his brother, Jeremiah, in the NBA real soon. We're banking on him to have a big game and be the difference in what should be a very close game.
Boise State Broncos @ Grand Canyon Antelopes -9.5 Alt Line(+257)

The actual line is Grand Canyon -1.5, but this feels like a total joke. The Antelopes crushed Boise State in Idaho, winning by 18, and the Broncos have fared far worse away from home in all categories this season.
Boise State's three-point percentage on the road is a hair over 30%, which would rank around 330th in the nation on the season. Add that to Grand Canyon's phenomenal interior defense, and we see a potential rout on our hands. We're sprinkling some on the maximum allowed alt spread, -13.5 at +445.
