*Odds updates as of start of the NFC Championship Game

To nobody’s surprise (at least after the win), quarterback Joe Burrow is the favorite to win Super Bowl MVP among Bengals players, but the Super Bowl spread will likely favor the NFC champs, after Cincinnati was a small underdog in look-ahead lines.

As for the question of who oddsmakers would open as the second-most likely Cincy player to win Super Bowl MVP, the answer is Burrow’s rookie sensation wide receiver. JaMarr Chase scored again against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game after torching Kansas City in Week 17. It will either be Chase or Patriots QB Mac Jones winning offensive Rookie of the Year, but could Chase add a Vince Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl MVP to cap a stellar debut season too?

After the Cincinnati dynamic duo, the next choice in Bengals Super Bowl MVP odds is running back Joe Mixon, followed by No. 2 wideout Tee Higgins.

Bengals Path To Super Bowl LVI

The Bengals were enormous longshots to win it all when the market opened after last year’s Super Bowl. Cincinnati was 66-1 or longer across sportsbooks, peaking as high as 150-1 after a Week 2 loss to the Bears at BetMGM.

Cincinnati was also at the bottom of the board to win the AFC North, but it was a Week 17 comeback at home against the might Chiefs that clinched the division and another improbable come-from-behind win in Kansas City as 7-point underdogs to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles.

The Queen City will watch its team play for NFL supremacy for the first time since the 1988 season, when the Bengals lost 20-16 to the 49ers in Super Bowl XXIII. Cincinnati also lost to San Francisco in its only other appearance in the big game in 1981, 26-21 in Super Bowl XVI.
