Insights into Mystery Box Platforms with Transformers Items
As shown in the table above, Courtyard.io, Boxed.gg, Mr Loot, and Royale.gg are our recommended mystery box platforms. There is a mix of franchise collectibles at each brand, ranging from the most valuable Disney cards, to Pokémon TCG packs and Transformers action figures.
We have shared insights and our first-hand experiences into each platform below, including how to find specific Transformers items.
Courtyard.io - Easy to use marketplace
Courtyard.io does not have a welcome bonus for new users. We did find daily free points, though. You can get up to 1,000 points every 24 hours. These points are used to climb the various leaderboards and are exchanged for pack purchases.
Interestingly, there are no Transformers hobby packs at the brand. However, you can use the marketplace to find Transformers comics. We had no issues browsing the marketplace. FYI, you should use the search tool to find the specific comics.
At the time of writing, there are 30+ comics. This includes the Transformers/Back to the Future #1 CGC 9.8 White Pages (IDW Publishing, 10/20) - Universal Scorpion Comics Edition B. It is currently priced at $149 with a top offer so far of $95.36.
Boxed.gg - Different Transformers hobby boxes
We were pleased with our experience on Boxed.gg. This is the only site on our list that has Transformers hobby boxes with graded cards. If you are joining for the first time, register with the banner. Thereafter, you will unlock one free mystery box after verifying your information.
Like Courtyard.io, we suggest using the search tool to find the Transformers items. We found several crossover sets, including Universes Beyond: Transformers. That set has lots of rare cards, such as Optimus Prime, Hero (Shattered Glass) and Slicer, Hired Muscle (Shattered Glass). The pull probabilities for both cards is 0.15% and 0.30%, respectively.
We had a blast opening these boxes with our mobile devices. The reveals did not lag, and the details on the cards were easy to read.
Mr Loot - Collect rare action figures
Next is Mr Loot, another site with an exclusive sign up promo. You can join and get three free boxes. Existing users can also access various promos. We liked the mix of prizes, including the daily loots, raffle prizes and referral bonuses.
Mr Loot also has Transformer collectibles with its hobby boxes. However, we learned that this does not include trading cards. Instead, you can pull some action figures.
There is an ‘Action Figure’ box which costs $58.75 to open. You will notice figurines from all major franchises. The figurines include a Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Optimus Prime Signature Series Robot, valued at $1,100. You have a 0.06% of pulling this item.
Royale.gg - Optimus Prime collectibles and more
Our experience on Royale.gg reminded us of our time on Mr Loot. New players can get started with a new user reward. Currently, you can trigger three free mystery boxes and a 5% bonus on first deposits.
Like Mr Loot, there is a hobby box with some Transformers figurines. For now, you will not find any trading cards. However, this may change, so we recommend keeping an eye on the available boxes.
While using the site, the only box that had Transformers items was the ‘Collectibles’. This costs $464.30 to open, and the available items are valued between $35 and $6,670. There is everything from Pikachu figurines to an Optimus Prime Action Figure worth $900.
New players can receive 3 free mystery boxes and a 5% bonus on their first deposit How to Find Trusted Mystery Box Sites
Whether finding Transformers collectibles or hunting for the most valuable Final Fantasy cards, you have to avoid dodgy platforms. To help you find trusted mystery box sites, here are the features we critique:
Safety measures
Legitimate card break sites will prioritize user safety. We observed that common security measures should range from password-protected accounts to encrypted banking platforms.
Verification is also important, and we expect reputable brands to conduct thorough verification checks. In our experience, this means you will need to provide proof of ID and address to the brand. Only once verification is complete can you open packs and pull Transformers cards.
Rewards for collectors
Many users expect bonuses, so there should be rewards for all collectors. For example, newcomers should be welcomed with free pack openings and first deposit match bonuses. For existing users, there should be referral bonuses, VIP prizes and social media giveaways.
We found that not many sites have Transformers packs, so do not expect bonuses to be tailored for Transformers collectibles. However, we still expect a mix of rewards to open other franchise packs. These can include ripping the most valuable anime cards and sports items.
Site usability
Avoid using platforms that have poorly designed websites. If there is too much clutter and missing information, these are immediate signs of red flags. We recommend using brands that have easy to use websites. This means that everything is neatly categorized and all important pages are found quickly.
We suggest that you actually browse the different sections of the website. Double-check that all pages load within seconds and that there is no clutter.
We enjoyed using Boxed.gg, for example, because it has a search tool. This made it easy to find specific Transformers boxes without wasting too much time browsing endlessly through other franchise boxes.
Mobile options
When we critique the mobile options, we check for mobile apps and mobile websites. Not many online card rip sites have standalone apps. However, those that do need to accommodate all users, with both Android and iOS apps.
If there is no mobile app, there needs to be a mobile site. You should avoid brands that do not optimize their mobile websites or mirror them to the desktop version. We learned that an optimized site makes the mobile pack opening experience more enjoyable. Nothing will be cut from the screen, and the reveals are exciting to watch.
Also, if the platform mirrors the desktop website, then there is no need for FOMO. You can access the same features, such as trading on the marketplace and shipping items to your home.
Shipping experience
Shipping details must be clear and readily available. We noted that many sites are upfront with the shipping costs. So, keep an eye out for shipping, service, handling and insurance fees. Remember to double-check that shipments are delivered timeously.
Your items must also be delivered in good condition. For example, no one wants to ship a valuable Naruto card or a Transformers comic book only for those items to be delivered with scratches. Speak to the customer service and ask whether shipments are delivered in a protective sleeve and if insurance will cover any mishaps.
Mix of Transformers items
Through our time, we observed that Transformers collectibles are not solely cards. There are also comic books and stickers. Therefore, when reviewing potential card rip sites, you should check for a mix of collectibles.
We suggest checking for marketplace trades and auction activities. In our experience, this is where you usually find unique Transformers items, such as catalogs.
Transformers Trading Cards: What to Do With Your Pulls?
You may find digital-only collectibles, but the majority of items at online card break brands are physical. All the sites covered on this page provide Transformers collectibles you can ship to your physical address. Besides shipping, you can also add them to your online portfolio, sell back to the brand and trade with other collectors.
Online portfolio
An online portfolio is where you can view all of your rips that you decide to keep. Many sites allow others to view your own collection, so you can gander at what other Transformers items other collectors have pulled.
Just be aware that some brands have limited space for online portfolios. So, if you reach the maximum limit, you have to ship some cards before adding more to your collection.
Instant buyback
Instant buyback or sellback is one of the best features for us. Too often, we have pulled some dud cards. When that happens, you can instantly sell the card back to the platform. Then you can use those credits to purchase additional packs as you search for DC items like valuable Batman cards or Transformers crossovers like the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond set.
We noticed that many brands have between 80% and 90% sellback, but some occasionally offer a limited-time 100% buyback.
The buyback value is based on the Fair Market Value (FMV). This is calculated based on market prices and the type of card pulled. We suggest you read up on the specific buyback rules for different card rip sites. That way, you can verify the buyback terms and see how long you have to make a decision.
Trade with others
Many collectors prefer to trade with others via the marketplace. There are plenty of Transformers collectibles to bid on, including niche graded cards. However, the marketplace requires you to be responsible with your trades. Do your research first and double-check whether the prices are fair.
Also, avoid bidding and then not responding to the trades. We found that many sites will ban you from the marketplace if you do not respond within a specific timeframe.
Ship your items
As pointed out earlier, you can ship to your physical address. When shipping, ensure your address details are accurate. You do not want your items to be shipped to someone else. Usually, items are delivered within two weeks, and you will be notified of any shipment updates.
Follow Our Tips When Using Card Break Sites
Here are some tips to remember when using card break sites to pull Transformers collectibles:
- Make sure you understand the different ways to find Transformers items. Transformers are a niche franchise compared to Pokémon or Magic: The Gathering. You may have to use the marketplace to find stickers or catalogs. So, make a list of the available features (hobby box openings, marketplace, auctions) at your preferred online card rip site.
- Diarize all the bonus terms before claiming an offer. There will be play through terms and an expiry period for your rewards. Make sure you comply with these; otherwise, you will forfeit your offers. For example, many free pack openings must be claimed within 24 hours. If you wait too long, the reward will expire.
- Read the pull probabilities for every Transformers pack before opening them. You should not always expect to pull a high-value card. Legitimate brands will share beforehand the type of cards you can pull, along with the rarity. This helps with understanding the chance of pulling an Uncommon or Rare graded card.
