How we got this Pullbox card rip review off to a flying start
A lot of the team here at The Lines have been entering the world of card collecting over the last few months. And with card rip sites like Pullbox popping off, it was time to see what all the fuss was about. Here’s a little run-through of what we experienced in the few minutes:
Is Pullbox legit? The first question worth answering
We weren’t about to pull up to a shady site, so we had to run a few background checks on Pullbox. Sure enough, everything came back clear. The platform is owned and operated by CCG Labs, an American company established in 2020 and registered in Delaware. Pullbox actually came a little later, as the site went live in late 2024.
They’ve clearly been hard at work since 2024, as the brand scored a 3.7-star rating on Trustpilot when we last checked. Card rip sites get a notoriously bad rep, so this is cool to see! There’s even plenty of positive chatter across community forums and social media.
A stress-free registration process for beginners
The website looks like it was built yesterday, so we had a pretty good idea that registration wouldn’t be an issue. Actually, it’s worth mentioning that we’re writing this Pullbox review in October, so the website was out in a Halloween theme. We’re hoping this trend continues with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and other holiday seasons.

Look, we’ll settle with you: there’s a reason why we didn’t include a promo code step. That’s because there isn’t a welcome bonus for new players, at least not right now. That’s standard across most platforms, as we didn’t find an OpenThatPack promo code either.
However, a ‘Rewards’ section was included on the main menu, indicating some kind of rewards program. But we’ll circle back to that later!
Loading up our account with Coins
After logging into our account, it quickly became obvious that we wouldn’t be purchasing card packs directly with cash. Instead, we had to purchase Coins, which are a type of virtual currency. We could do this with several payment methods, including:
- Stripe: Debit/credit card and crypto
- Coinflow: Debit/credit card
- Pulse: Gift card
- Crypto: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin
We made a few purchases with Stripe (Visa debit card) and crypto (Ethereum) without a hitch. There was a solid range of options too, with 9 Coin packages to choose from.
The most affordable included 14.60 Coins for $10, while the most expensive included 8,249 Coins for $5,000. FYI, the largest package did come with a 13% bonus, but honestly, that felt well out of our reach as beginners. That’s why we went with a mid-tier package for our first purchase, which got us 74.81 Coins for $50.
Rip cards across multiple hobbies at Pullbox
With our Coin balance filled, we were ready to rock and roll into the card ripping activity. As we started to browse what was possible, the clean website design came back to the forefront. We could easily filter the mystery box selection by specific hobbies, including:
- Magic
- Pokémon
- Lorcana
- One Piece
- Riftbound
- Flesh & Blood
- Palworld
The variety of hobbies covered here is worth praising, especially if you compare it to our Packly review, which covered only Pokémon. Each hobby is stacked with boxes too. We found 79 mystery boxes for Lorcana and 149 boxes for One Piece. That’s a lot to choose from!
Our first attempt ripping Pokémon cards went well!
If you thought One Piece and Lorcana had plenty of options, Pokémon blows them out of the water with 262 mystery boxes available at Pullbox. We had to start with this hobby, as it’s our favorite, and we’re actively working towards completing multiple Pokémon sets.
To get a feel for the experience, we started with the cheapest possible Pokémon box: Prismatic Eevee Soup, which cost us 0.18 Coins. It was a batch of 20 boxes we ordered first, and to our amazement, one of these boxes contained a Jolteon ex - 153/131 worth 275.34 Coins. The pull rates were advertised before we bought the box, and this card came in at a 0.001% chance, so it blew our minds to see this land in our collection.
Provably fair lets us verify each result independently
We’d only splashed out 3.20 Coins on 20 boxes and walked away with a Jolteon ex - 153/131. At that price, we weren’t about to start complaining. But it was cool to see a server seed hash shown for each Pokémon box we opened. This meant that we could use the provably fair system to check out every result and ensure there wasn’t any manipulation. It’s just another big tick in the box for those wondering if Pullbox is legit.
Card ripping just got a multiplayer makeover at Pullover
Remember the pack battles we found in our Gemint review? Well, they’re making a return at Pullover, giving you the chance to compete against, or with, other collectors. But here’s where Pullover surprised us: it’s offering a second multiplayer mode called brawls. We tested both:
Box Battles: Fast-paced showdowns
We tested box battles first, as we were already fairly familiar with the setup from other platforms. Pullover gave us the option to compete in individual battles where we’d face off in 1v1, 1v1v1, or 1v1v1v1 formats. Alternatively, we could have picked team battles, where we’d partner up with a trusted friend for a 2v2 royale rumble.
After choosing the setup, it was time to choose the win conditions. Here were the options:
- Highest total value – The team or player with the highest total value wins all the cards in the pot.
- Lowest total value – The team or player with the lowest total value wins all the cards in the pot.
- Shared mode – Items included in the unboxing are evenly distributed to all players or teams.
We were actually pretty surprised how quickly these box battle lobbies filled up. It’s a credit to the loyal player base Pullbox has built up. And at least you know you won’t be waiting for hours just to rip one battle.
Box Brawls: Tournament-style competitions
Brawls were next on our multiplayer hit list, bringing a tournament-style twist. Each brawl brought 2 to 5 rounds of action, with every round following the same mechanics as a standard box battle. There was one small catch before we could jump into the action, though: we had to pay an entry fee covering both the battle cost and a contribution to the prize pool.
There were also two separate modes to choose from, including:
- Standard mode: Cards are pooled throughout the tournament, and the winner takes all.
- Safe mode: Players keep items from each battle and the winner takes the prize pool.
We went with safe mode brawls throughout this Pullover review, which meant if we got knocked out early, the rounds we never got to play were instantly refunded. Had we gone with standard mode, it would have been a different story. There are no refunds if you crash out here, but the champion mops up every item across the bracket.
Unlocking free mystery boxes from the rewards program
Remember our recent excitement to find a free pack at GameStop Power Packs? We got our hands on one every single day through Pullbox’s rewards program. We’re not joking: after zipping through the streamlined registration process we mentioned earlier, we had to complete additional Discord and phone verification to unlock our first free daily rewards box. These boxes included trading cards from several hobbies, including Riftbound, Pokémon, and Magic.
But like all good rewards programs, Pullbox had a progression system of up to 100 levels. For every 0.10 Coins we spent, 1 XP was added to our progress bar, pushing us closer to the next tier. Then, our free daily mystery box upgraded at levels 5, 10, and every 10 levels after that until level 100.
Making tough decisions after every card rip
With every card box our team tore through, we had one of three decisions: sell the card back instantly, store it in the digital inventory, or ship it across the United States. What we liked about this Pullbox review was that the instant sellback scheme offered 100% of the card’s fair market value in Coins. So our approach was to sell the cards we didn’t fancy keeping and ship our favorite pulls straight to our collection.
How did the shipping process work?
As much as we would have loved to ship the first major pull we received in this Pullbox review, we decided to play the long game. With a shipping fee applying to every order, it made more sense to build up our haul and get closer to the 20-card limit before requesting delivery.
Thankfully, the shipping process itself went swimmingly. Pullbox ships from New York, with cards protected in sleeves, toploaders, and bubble mailers. High-value pulls even get upgraded protections, and orders aim to ship within 30 days. That’s their policy, and we found it held true after receiving four separate shipments without issue.
What did we make of the Pullbox support services?
There’s an FAQs section, which comes in surprisingly handy, especially for working out those niggly little shipping questions. But the best support method is, of course, the live chat. And the boys (and girls) are available 24/7 here.
For our first requested shipment during this Pullbox review, we were actually starting to worry how much longer it would take. When we dropped into the live chat, they came straight back with a tracking link so we could see where the shipment was. We even fired over a few questions about the rewards program and how the progression ladder worked. They cleared those up in a matter of minutes too. Seems like they can handle any issue, big or small.

Should you give Pullbox a go? Our final take
Pullbox brings a lot to the table, and it’s a mystery box site we’d happily recommend to fellow collectors. We loved the huge range of card categories, including Pokémon, Magic, Lorcana, One Piece, and Riftbound. There’s also more than one way to rip, with solo boxes, Box Battles, and Brawls all ready to shake things up.
You can’t knock the overall experience either. Registration is smooth, and payment methods like Stripe and crypto make it easy to fund your first rip. You get plenty of support from live chat too, while the rewards program gives you a reason to come back. Even shipping brings its A game with secure packaging and nationwide deliveries.
