Gemint Review 2026: Gems or junk? A detailed analysis of Gemint's offerings
Our Gemint review confirms the card ripping site has plenty of Pokemon card packs to rip into. You can also find a live category for soccer cards. Gemint should be adding One Piece and baseball cards soon, too.
Aside from the card packs you can buy and rip, you also get the chance to take part in Pack Battles. As a new site member, you also get a $10 coupon in exchange for verifying your email address and following Gemint on X and Discord. What is Gemint all about?
Gemint is one of a number of card ripping sites you can get involved with online just now. Some sites have multiple categories for trading cards. Gemint currently only has live categories covering Pokemon and soccer, but the latter of those was empty when we wrote this Gemint review. Here are some of the key features we spotted as we began to look around the site.
Card ripping basics at Gemint
Some card rip sites are more complex than others. If you’ve ever asked yourself, how do GameStop Power Packs work, you’ll know what we mean. Gemint is about as simple a site as you can hope for, but it does include some extra features you won’t see elsewhere.
At present, they’ve only got Pokemon packs. Those come in various kinds, including Starter Packs, Elite Packs, and 30th Celebration Packs. You’ll see a variety of graded cards on your screen for each pack. One of those cards is guaranteed to be inside the mystery pack. Gemint provides you with the current market value for each card, along with the price for the pack.
You’ve obviously got a greater chance of pulling a cheaper card rather than one of the rarer and pricier cards from the selection. They’ve graded every card, and you can view it before buying a pack and ripping it. That’s good, because it offers transparency.
For instance, the Pokemon Starter Pack is available for $15. One of 19 cards will appear in there when you rip the pack. The cheapest valued card is worth $12, while the most expensive you could pull is currently worth $199. Here are some of the possibilities you could get:
- Pokemon Base Set Lightning Energy #100 - worth $12
- Pokemon Japanese 25th Anniversary Collection Flying Pikachu V #23 - worth $14
- 2025 Pokemon Japanese M2-Inferno X Wigglytuff - worth 30
- 2019 Pokemon Japanese Sun & Moon Tag Team GX All Stars Mewtwo and Mew GX - worth $199
That last one is the rarest card you could potentially pull from that pack - and thus has the longest odds in terms of your chance of getting it.
What happens once you’ve pulled a card?
You’ve got three options at this point. If you’ve pulled something good that you’d like to keep, you can store it in your online vault at Gemint. You can also ask Gemint to ship you the physical card for your collection if you wish. This incurs shipping fees, but they’ll tell you what those are before you agree to have the card shipped.
Finally, if you don’t want your card, you can sell it back to Gemint. You’ll do this for a flat 90% of the fair market value, according to what the card is worth at the time. Remember this is the market value - not the amount you paid for the pack. You’ll see this on screen before you decide what to do.
Go head-to-head in a Pack Battle
If you’re only into card ripping, you can simply do that at Gemint. However, they also have the Pack Battles area, where you can create or join a battle set up by someone else. You’ve got three battle types at present - Classic, Reverse, and One Shot. We found another option that is currently unavailable, but is supposedly coming soon. Expect more details here when we have them.
The winner of each battle is determined according to the battle type. Classic battles denote the winner as the person with the highest value of cards, whereas Reverse battles work in the opposite way, as the name suggests. The One Shot marks the winner as the person with the highest value card in the final round.
Each battle requires at least two players, with a maximum of four. You can also create a fast battle, where you immediately view the results. That takes some of the drama out of it, but it does speed things up. It just depends on how you want to play.
You can rewatch some older battles if you wish, just to get a sense of how they work. With thousands of completed battles on the Gemint website, it’s clearly a feature that lots of card ripping fans enjoy. It also sets Gemint apart from plenty of other more traditional card rip websites.
No need to bother with a mobile app
This makes things easier, as you won’t need to download or update anything. Having tested the Gemint website, we found the simple design worked well on everything from computers to smartphones.
If you’re on a smartphone or tablet, you’ll get a burger menu icon you can expand or slide out of the way as you wish. That doesn’t appear if you’re on a laptop.
Find the info you need with ease
We’ve visited plenty of card ripping websites, as you’ll see from our Pullbox review and others here. Some are better for newcomers to card ripping and collectibles than others. We'd place Gemint in that category.
It’s a fine site to visit, with an uncluttered appearance and quick access to the trading card categories. In fact, we found those on the homepage with no clicking, tapping, or scrolling required to reach them. It automatically loads all available packs to start with. You can reach key areas of the site from the menu, including your profile and the new player coupon we’ll cover in a second.
If you’re still wondering which site to sign up at, you can compare Gemint to others, including the Packly review, to see whether Gemint comes out on top for you. A lot depends on which category of trading cards you’re after, since Gemint is currently focusing on Pokemon and soccer trading card packs to rip.
Can you trust Gemint?
Yes. We’ve found lots of card rip sites cropping up of late, and we always check who’s behind each of them. In the case of Gemint, the terms and conditions confirm that J Lab Limited is behind the site.
There are a few prohibited locations in their T&Cs, but they haven’t listed any prohibited US states. So, wherever you live in the US, you can sign up at Gemint if you're at least 18 years old.
Does Gemint offer a welcome bonus?
They do - and that’s never something you can be sure of at card ripping sites. We haven’t currently found a GameStop Power Packs free pack, for example, but we did find a $10 coupon for you to grab when you join Gemint.
Complete three tasks
Firstly, note that you won’t require a Gemint promo code to claim your coupon. Instead, you’ll need to create an account and verify your email address. Once you’ve done that, you have two other steps to complete to get your coupon. You must follow Gemint on X, and join their official Discord community.
They’ve made all this easier by creating a page for the coupon, which you’ll find in the main site menu. Once there, you’ll find links to help you connect your Gemint account with X and Discord. You’ll then get your coupon. It’s a good deal compared to some other card ripping websites. We haven’t found an OpenThatPack promo code, for example, nor any other promotion or coupon offer there.
No loyalty program available
In case you’re wondering, we found no sign of a VIP program or similar loyalty effort at Gemint. If they decide to add one in future, you’ll hear about it here first.
Here’s what you should know about payments at Gemint
We’ve visited a few card rip sites that require members to deposit funds in their account prior to choosing packs to rip. It’s the same at Gemint, too. You can deposit using Tether, using one of several hundred wallets to do so. Some of the biggest names you can use are Coinbase and MetaMask.
If you’d rather use a fiat method, you can - but you need to send your funds via the Mercuryo service connected to Gemint. This means you’ll use fiat methods to buy Tether (USDT) to add to your account. Note that they’ve got a minimum $21 deposit threshold in place if you choose a fiat option. Once you’ve done that, you can browse the packs and buy whichever ones you wish using the balance you’ve added to your account.
How do they fare in the customer service department?
This is one area where Gemint has plenty of room for improvement. They only launched in 2026, so the site is new compared to some others out there today. Promisingly, we found a help center link at the bottom of the Gemint site… but it led to nothing more than one section containing two articles. Those turned out to be the site terms and conditions, along with the privacy policy.
Those are detailed, to be sure, but there’s no way you can contact the Gemint team via their website. We soon realized we needed the Discord connection to ask any questions we had - not just to collect their $10 coupon. If you have questions, you’ll need to create a Discord ticket to get in touch.
Our Gemint review verdict: is it worth a visit?
Gemint is still fairly new, hence why you’ll only find Pokemon card packs there at present. There’s room for soccer packs, but that section is currently empty. They’re planning to add more packs covering One Piece and baseball at some point, too. At present, the Pack Battles add a different element of entertainment to sit alongside the card rips.
Don’t forget you can claim your $10 coupon if you complete the three tasks they’ve set for you. Verifying your email is easy enough, but you’ll need to create accounts with X and Discord if you don’t already have them set up. Check out the Gemint website first, to see what you think of it. It’s good for Pokemon fans at present, and you can reach the site by using one of our links on this page to check it out further.
