GameStop Power Packs Review 2026: Are GameStop Power Packs Worth It?
You likely know all about GameStop, be it from visiting the physical stores or hearing about the incredible story regarding its stock action (entertainingly told in the film Dumb Money), but today we’re here with a GameStop Power Packs review.
This is a part of the official GameStop site, where you can get your hands on digital or physical packs of cards. It’s a fun concept but one that is also in use at multiple other sites, so this review looks at how well GameStop Power Packs offers and how it compares to the competition.

Bonus offers at GameStop Power Packs
To be honest, bonus offers probably aren’t the main strength of GameStop Power Packs. Unlike what we found in the Packs App review, for example, there is no welcome bonus that users get just for signing up. However, there are a couple of small promotions that we found.
New user discount
New users who sign up and make a purchase on three separate days within their first month will get a 20% discount on their next order of up to $20.
These purchases can be of any pack type but do be aware that the GameStop Power Packs pricing means that even the ‘Starter’ packs are priced at $25.
Gold credit
This promotion is similar to the above, only you have to buy a ‘Gold’ pack on three different days in a week to qualify. These packs cost $100 each, and the reward is $10 of credit.
VIP program and future promotions
We can’t really talk about a VIP program at GameStop Power Packs, as they don’t currently have one. However, this isn’t to say that one won’t appear in the future, and the same can be said of other promotions. After all, some of its competitors do have a VIP program; we found one in the Fanatics Live review, for example.
The GameStop Power Packs app
Although there is a section of the GameStop website dedicated to Power Packs, this mainly just advertises the platform and allows you to purchase physical packs.
In order to get the best user experience of the digital card rips platform, you will need to download a mobile app. The good news is that – as with our Trove review – it’s a high-quality app, with an excellent 4.9 out of 5 rating on the App Store and 4.2 out of 5 on Google Play.
User reviews comment on it feeling much more responsive than the mobile browser version and being “super easy to use”, and we have to say that this reflects our experience, with no real glitches of note encountered.
The app uses a dark background with white text and red buttons to add a splash of color and this looks really smart as well as being easy on the eyes. We also found that the navigation was logical, and the ability to search for specific collections by typing in text, rather than just using pre-set menus, was also a nice touch.
An excellent selection of cards at GameStop Power Packs
So far in this GameStop Power Packs review, we’ve covered some very positive elements – like the app – and some areas for improvement – like the bonus offers, but we’re pleased to say that this section is all positive. That’s because this platform offers an excellent selection of different card categories.
Included are the following:
- Pokémon (including newer cards, classic cards, and lots of high-grade, PSA 10 cards)
- One Piece
- Sports (including baseball, football and basketball)
All the cards are graded and valued, so you know exactly what you have on your hands the moment after you pull them.
Payments at GameStop Power Packs
As we’ve already mentioned, and as is the case in the Slabdaddy review, digital card packs start at $25. Here’s the full list of options:

To buy any of these packs, you will obviously need to make a payment, so it’s a little disappointing to see quite a limited selection of payment methods. They include:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
At present, there doesn’t appear to be a PayPal option or any cryptocurrencies (which are present in our OpenThatPack review). However, the positive is that any payments should be processed instantly, and GameStop Power Packs does use the secure and well-established payment processor, Stripe.
Four options after you purchase a pack
After purchasing a pack of cards, you have four options…
1. Have the cards shipped to you
If you’re making a physical purchase, this is actually the only option, but you also have the option to have the contents of any digital packs shipped to you.
As there’s a shipping fee - $5.99 to a US address – this option is best used for high-value cards or once you’ve collected a large number of cards. The fee remains $5.99 for up to 50 items, which is pretty good.
Delivery times vary, but you can usually expect to wait around three weeks.
2. Keep them stored in your PSA vault
The moment you draw any digital cards; they’re immediately marked for storage in a PSA vault based in Delaware.
This is a secure location and gives your piece of mind if you wish to hang onto your cards but not have them physically shipped. There is also no storage fee for this option, which is a good perk.
3. Sell them back to GameStop Power Packs
After purchase, you have the option to sell any unwanted cards back to GameStop Power Packs at 90% of their ‘fair market value’. This is about the standard rate for a mystery card rips platform, although you do also have a 6% selling fee to take into account.
This option might not be for everyone, but the convenience it offers will certainly appeal to some, with the buyback offer valid for seven days after purchase.
If you do choose to sell back to GameStop Power Packs, you can use the funds to purchase more packs or withdraw them to your chosen payment method for a $1.99 fee.
4. Sell them via the PSA vault on eBay
Of course, if you think that you can get a better price for your cards on eBay, you’re also more than welcome to do that – they are, after all, your property once you’ve pulled them!
The PSA vault integrates with eBay, which is really helpful and makes the selling process as straightforward as possible. There is a one-time seller’s fee if you choose to go down this route, but you may get a better price this way, even taking that fee into account.
Customer support at GameStop Power Packs
Given that GameStop is a popular physical store as well as a digital platform, it really should have a customer support edge compared to, say, our Ripit review, and happily, we found that there were no real issues with it.
First off, there’s a comprehensive support section of the website, which comes with the expected FAQs, but also the ability to search by category (which includes a ‘Digital Content’ section) or by entering your own search terms.

The one minor downside is the lack of a ‘live chat’ tool, but that isn’t a huge deal given that a lot of these elsewhere are just AI bots that regurgitate the FAQ answers.

Legitimacy and security at GameStop Power Packs
In the world of collectables, it’s absolutely crucial that you can trust the products that you’re buying, and so GameStop has an immediate advantage over many of its competitors due to its pre-existing and longstanding expertise in this field.
