Facts About Ripping Mystery Packs Under $50 for Trading Cards

How $50 Digital Mystery Pack Sites Work

On legitimate platforms, you buy a digital mystery pack or box for under $50. Then, you open it and receive a trading card at random. While you see the collectible virtually, there’s an authentic, physical copy in storage.

Most brands we rank allow you to sell back your pull cards instantly or request delivery if you want a physical copy. Some platforms also let you store collectibles long-term in secure vaults. It’s not just for under $50, as the same applies to best card rips packs under $100 and other amounts. The difference is just the price you pay for the rip.

Here’s a summary of the card types we often see in mystery packs that cost less than $50:

Pack/box categoryCard examples
PokémonCharizard, Pikachu, holographic, EX, alternate-art
SportsFootball, basketball, baseball, soccer, and more
One PieceLuffy, manga rares, alternate-art
Magic: The Gathering (MTG)Mythic rares, foil cards, alternate-art

Top 10 Sites for Digital Mystery Packs and Boxes Under $50

Now, let’s move to the main reason you’re here. Check out our recommended platforms for buying mystery packs and getting trading cards for no more than $50:

ClutchPacks – Best for multisport packs

Our ClutchPacks review confirmed that the site offers multisport packs that include trading cards from the NFL, NBA, MLB, soccer, and others. You can randomly pull a collectible from any of the featured sports when you rip. The Liftoff pack costs only $25, which is half of $50.

In that Liftoff pack, we saw cards of four tiers: Commons, Hits, Chasers, and Epics. We were interested in soccer but didn’t expect to get the most valuable FIFA card in soccer. That’s because of the low odds of pulling an item in the top three categories — 15.18%, 6.34%, and 2.54%, respectively. With a 75.95% probability, you’re more likely to get a Commons card. These odds are subject to change.

Nevertheless, ClutchPacks will buy back your pulled cards for 90% of their fair market value (FMV) if you decide to sell. It’s one of the highest rates we found in our reviews.

Packz.io – Best for Pokémon card rips

If you join Packz.io, you can buy a Pokémon Starter mystery pack for $25. That’s not the end of it. We purchased the Uncommon pack for $10 and paid even less for the Common pack at $5. It’s clear why we rank the site as ideal for Pokémon card rips under $50.

For each pack, Packz.io shows the probability of pulling cards based on their estimated value range. This approach impressed us because you instantly know how much the collectibles you pull will be potentially worth. In the $10 Uncommon pack, for example, Pokémon cards worth $10 to $15 had the highest odds (37%).

Packz.io offers a sweat-free pack welcome offer to new collectors. So, if your first pull is worth less than the pack price, you can get back your money in site credits, up to $100.

Rips by Triumph – Best for $1 packs

Rips by Triumph truly sells Starter digital mystery packs for $1. That said, we observed that the inventory may not always be available for all card categories. You can expect it more often for Pokémon and One Piece collectibles. When you sign up, the platform may give you a welcome bonus if you sign up using a referral code.

Besides the $1 Starter pack, Rips by Triumph also has a Basic pack for $5, Signature pack for $10, and Bronze for $25. That’s four digital mystery packs under $50. So, the platform’s appearance on our list is totally based on merit. While browsing some of the best Rips by Triumph packs, we saw Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Grail card tiers.

Another commendable feature of Rips by Triumph is the brand’s 100% FMV buyback. We sold back some of our pulls and withdrew the funds via PayPal within minutes.

Courtyard – Best for Wildcard pulls

In our opinion, Courtyard takes the idea of digital mystery packs to the next level with its Wildcard collections. These are generalized packs that can include any card – Pokémon, sports, One Piece, MTG, Marvel comics, and others. As usual, you rip and receive a collectible at random.

We counted eight different Wildcard packs on the site. However, the best Courtyard packs for under $50 are Basic ($15) and Starter ($25). When we opened each one, we saw the odds distribution according to the average collectible value. Courtyard works with figures from recent sales on multiple marketplaces, so the probabilities can change in real time.

Courtyard also has a marketplace if you’re interested in buying single trading cards. The section has filters for Under $25 and $25 to $50, so you can find collectibles selling for under $50.

Boxed.gg – Best for card variety

So far, our ranking has included sites offering digital mystery packs. If you’d prefer boxes instead, then consider Boxed.gg. Most boxes still include packs, though. The platform uses gems for unboxing, and you purchase 100 gems for $1. That means boxes sold for less than 5,000 gems are under $50, and we saw many of them.

The trading cards available in Boxed.gg boxes include Pokémon, sports, MTG, Riftbound, One Piece, and many others. That’s why we rank the platform as the best in terms of card variety. We paid 2,074 gems for an Unleased Riftbound mystery box and pulled a Rift Herald card worth 2,728 gems.

Upon creating our Boxed.gg account, we received a free mystery box as a welcome bonus. There are daily free mystery boxes as well, which become more valuable as you progress in the Level Rewards program.

Tilt Rips – Best for $0.10 packs

Tilt Rips is home to Dime Pokémon mystery packs priced at only $0.10. At that rate, you can rip 250 packs for $25 — half of $50. However, we must state that the cards included in the Dime pack are low-value.

We opened the Dime pack five times and pulled items worth $0.15, $0.19, $0.13, $0.24, and $0.15 again. The most expensive card in the bundle is a Pikachu-EX PSA 10 worth $94,600, but it’d take a miracle to get it for $0.10. If you want slightly higher odds of getting more valuable collectibles, consider the $25 Starter pack on Tilt Rips, which is still under $50.

All new collectors on Tilt Rips start with a free digital mystery pack after registration. You can only get the bonus if you use the mobile app, not the website.

Mr Loot – Best for Pokémon card sets

At Mr Loot, you’ll mainly see digital mystery boxes featuring luxury, gaming, tech, and fashion items. However, the site has a Pokémon category for cards. What caught our attention is that the cards are grouped based on actual Pokémon trading card sets rather than customized bundles. We spotted sets such as Mega Evolution Chaos Rising and Scarlet & Violet Stellar Crown.

Mr Loot offers both single trading cards and sealed packs. There’s a Budget Pokémon Packs section on the site where we found bundles selling for $0.1 to $4. Even designated high-roller pulls were available for $20, $30, and $40, all less than $50.

Before opening any pack on Mr Loot, you can use the Demo option to test for free. The site will give you three free boxes after signing up. When we opened ours, we got other items besides trading cards, but yours can be different.

Royale.gg – Best for item upgrades

Here’s another platform that focuses on digital mystery boxes rather than packs. You won’t spot a dedicated trading card category on Royale.gg. From what we observed, the platform includes trading cards in random boxes, so you have to search for them.

To illustrate, we entered ‘card’ into the search bar and got two results: Card Collector for $272.54 and Wild Card for $11.85. The latter is proof that Royale.gg offers unboxing for under $50. That Wild Card box contained Pokémon, sports, Disney Lorcana, and Yu-Gi-Oh! collectibles.

We took an interest in the Upgrade feature on Royale.gg. It lets you attempt to swap your pulled card for a high-value item based on a multiplier. That said, outcomes are entirely random. You keep the higher-value card if you win and forfeit the initial collectible if you lose.

Last Pack – Best for delivery timelines

One Piece, Pokémon, Riftbound, and Dragon Ball cards are available in Last Pack digital mystery packs. The Dragon Ball edition impressed us since many sites don’t have it. In the category, you can purchase Farmer, Student, and Saiyan packs for $5, $10, and $25, respectively. Other niches on Last Pack include $1 mystery packs. If you’re eligible, you can get a free welcome bonus pack.

Last Pack promises to deliver all pulled cards to collectors within five business days. After analyzing the shipping process, we can say that the brand keeps its word. The cards are stored in a warehouse in California, so they can be delivered in five days at most. USPS handles the shipping.

Typically, you’ll pay any shipping fee or tax that applies. The upside is that Last Pack insures the cards for free, up to $100. If the value is above $100, you pay 1% for insurance.

Beezie – Best for video game cards

Beezie is one of the few sites where we saw a dedicated category for video game cards. The section holds collectibles from Donkey Kong, James Bond 007, Detective Pikachu Returns, Super Mario, and Pac-Man. Other titles may be available over time as Beezie updates its collection.

Instead of the regular pack-ripping mechanic, Beezie uses a digital claw machine for picking trading cards at random. We went for the Wildcard claw machine for $30. However, don’t anticipate rare items from it. For example, we didn’t expect to find the most valuable Fortnite card for less than $50. Base and common collectibles have the highest probability.

If you don’t use the claw machine, you can purchase single trading cards in Beezie’s marketplace. We found more Pokémon and One Piece items in the marketplace than video game cards.

Why Consider the Best Card Rips Packs Under $50

As we’ve stated multiple times, you’re more likely to pull a low-value card in a pack for under $50 than a high-value item. That’s rational since the price is low in the first place.

Indeed, the packs still offer a chance to win a trading card worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. However, we wouldn’t advise ripping them with the primary goal of making a profit. Instead, here’s what we suggest:

Building a collection

Our primary recommendation is to accumulate cards you want to own. Over time, you build a physical or online collection to display the items.

For example, you can build a collection of different NBA players by team. Alternatively, you can focus just on your favorite players, including their base, rookie, and insert cards.

Doing so is possible even if you purchase the same low-priced pack multiple times since pulls are randomized. Nevertheless, we advise choosing different bundles if possible for more variety.

Trading with other collectors

Let’s say you’re searching for the most valuable Naruto card. You most likely won’t pull it from a digital mystery pack that costs $50 or less. However, you may be able to trade multiple common Naruto cards for a rare item, provided other collectors agree.

We illustrated with Naruto, but the niche isn’t widely popular in the US. You’ll have more success trading Pokémon, MLB, NBA, and NFL cards since they have a much larger community of collectors.

Discovering new cards

Digital mystery pack sites usually update their inventory with new cards. When you see a category you don’t usually collect, you may be curious to see what’s included. If so, paying less than $50 is a reasonable starting point.

In our case, we wanted to discover more about Transformers collectibles and purchased a $25 pack. Our pull wasn’t the most valuable Transformers card, of course. However, we got items featuring Optimus Prime and Megatron, the two most famous characters in the franchise.

Pros and Cons of Pack Rips Under $50

Signing up with a digital mystery pack site to rip for less than $50 has its pros and cons. We’ve outlined them below:

trading pack rips under $50
Pros and Cons
  • Affordable for new online collectors
  • Variety of trading card types to choose from
  • Ideal for collecting and trading
  • Pulls are mainly low-value cards

Conclusion – Rip Packs for Less Than $50 on the Best Sites

Digital mystery packs selling for less than $50 are undoubtedly affordable. You can start with them if you’re new to online card collecting before moving to more expensive bundles.

If you manage to pull a card with a much higher value than $50, it’s to your benefit. However, the likelihood is low; that’s why we advise ripping for other reasons. You can keep the cards to build a collection, trade, or just to discover new franchises.

With 10 sites on our top list, you have more than enough platforms to consider, according to your preferences. Once you’ve selected one, click its banner on this page to visit the website and register.
