5 Steps to Rip a Digital Mystery Pack for Under $100
If you’re new to ripping online trading card packs, the process isn’t complicated. Here’s our 5-step guide to get started while spending less than $100:
-
Join a digital mystery pack platform
Of course, the first step is to find a platform that sells digital packs for under $100. Actually, we’ve done the search for you. Just pick one of the platforms featured on this page and click through to visit the site. Then, complete the registration form and confirm your account.
-
Browse the available categories
Pokémon and sports are the two common categories we’ve seen for mystery packs. Some sites include One Piece, MTG, Riftbound, and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
On a few platforms, we’ve also spotted less common packs, including those with some of the most valuable Transformers card items. Overall, check the collection and select the trading card category you’re interested in.
-
Select and rip a pack
For less than $100, you’ll typically see packs priced at $50 and $25. We’ve bought bundles for as low as $10, $5, and even $1, as you’ll discover in our site reviews later on.
However, the lower the pack price, the smaller the odds of pulling a premium card. For example, the most valuable Naruto card we saw in a $10 pack had less than a 2% probability. So we recommend sticking to $25 to $50 for the best value.
After selecting a pack, pay and rip it. The opening process is instant, and the card you pull is totally random.
-
Review your pull
On the sites we rank, you’ll typically see the card's estimated fair market value (FMV) and its rarity. These details give you an idea of the item's value. That said, the platforms' displayed value may not match the value on third-party marketplaces.
-
Make a decision
Finally, you have to choose whether to:
- Sell the card back to the platform for a percentage of its FMV
- Request physical delivery
- Store it in a vault
Most mystery packs under $100 we rip result in low- or moderate-value cards. In our experience, it's better to sell back or store them. Shipping may cost more than the item is worth.
In exceptional cases, if you get a high-value collectible, you can choose to sell or ship it. We suggest selling if you want cash immediately, especially when the buyback is favorable. Some mystery pack platforms have marketplaces where you can list the card for other collectors to purchase.
Shipping works if you want to own the card physically. You can also list the item on third-party marketplaces for a potentially higher price.
Pros and Cons of Ripping Mystery Packs Below $100
Before revealing our top 10 list, take note of these upsides and downsides:
- Multiple price points under $100
- Packs include both common and rare cards
- Instant sellback of pulled collectibles
- Low odds for pulling premium cards
Best Platforms to Rip Mystery Packs With Cards for Under $100
In our opinion, $100 is a moderate cost for a digital mystery pack. So it’s not hard to find sites offering lower prices. However, if you want to rip on only trustworthy platforms, pick one of our top 10 below:
ClutchPacks – Ideal for long-term card storage
If you pull a card on ClutchPacks, you can store it long-term in a secure vault managed by Trace N' Chase, the brand’s distribution partner. The items will remain there until you decide whether to sell or receive delivery of them.
We checked for recurring monthly or annual storage fees and found none. In fact, ClutchPacks even fully insures each card up to its estimated market value.
ClutchPacks offers multisport, Pokémon, One Piece, football, baseball, and soccer packs. The main options for under $100 are Liftoff at $25 and Ignition at $50. We tested the Liftoff multisport pack and pulled a 2025 Bowman Chrome Vets LeBron James #BCV-121 Blue Sapphire worth $36.04. Then, we sold it back for 90%, which was around $32.
20% off First Pack Purchase Packz.io – Football rips with defined odds
At Packz.io, we purchased two football digital mystery packs for less than $100. The first was the Kickoff pack, which costs only $25. After ripping, we pulled an NFL card valued at $19. After opening the second, the Checkdown pack, the collectible was worth $53.
Those pulls didn’t surprise us because Packz.io is fully transparent with the probability. In each pack, there’s an odds distribution showing potential pull values, percentages, and a visual gauge. As such, we already knew what the worth of the collectible could be before ripping.
The standard buyback rate on Packz.io is 90% of the item’s FMV. However, the platform’s welcome bonus increases it to 100%, up to $100. The maximum pack value allowed fits the under-$100 rips we’re talking about.
Rips by Triumph – Graded and raw cards
One unique aspect about Rips by Triumph is that the platform includes both graded and raw cards. The latter have not been authenticated by companies like PSA, BGS, and CGC. They’re more common in lower-priced packs, especially those below $100.
As experts, we recognize that raw cards are less expensive than slabbed ones. If you then submit them to a grading company yourself, the value may increase when you resell. At the same time, there’s the risk of not knowing the card’s physical condition until you receive it. So, you should choose the best Rips by Triumph packs based on your tolerance.
Whether graded or raw, you can sell the collectible back to Rips by Triumph for 100% of its FMV. Note that the platform is only available as a mobile app on iOS and Android. You don’t rip on a website.
Courtyard – Regular limited-edition packs
The standard packs on Courtyard cover Pokémon, One Piece, MTG, sports, and more. However, we occasionally came across limited-edition bundles on the site. At one point, there were two Pokémon packs – Fire & Electric for $39 and Pokémon PSA 10 for $59 – and an NFL Monday Night Matchup pack for $69. All were less than $100.
Take the Pokémon PSA 10 pack, for example. It included only trading cards with a PSA 10 grade, the highest numerical grade awarded by Professional Sports Authenticator.
That said, a high grade doesn’t automatically mean high value. As evidence, we pulled PSA 10 cards worth $86 and $49 from the pack. Nevertheless, the limited-edition bundles are undoubtedly some of the best Courtyard packs to rip.
Boxed.gg – Wide range of card categories
If you use Boxed.gg, you can rip packs with sports, Pokémon, One Piece, MTG, and Riftbound trading cards, among others. That’s one of the largest varieties we saw throughout our reviews. Given the range of categories on Boxed.gg, we tried finding packs with the most valuable Fortnite card. However, they were unavailable at the time.
On Boxed.gg, the packs are usually included in digital mystery boxes. Also, you open them with gems rather than USD directly. The platform sells 100 gems for $1. We spotted multiple boxes selling for below 10,000 gems, the equivalent of $100.
Expect a free mystery box from Boxed.gg as a welcome bonus after registration. Depending on the chance, the box may include a trading card.
Tilt Rips – Unique adjustable volatility settings
You don’t have to just pick a digital mystery pack under $100 and rip it open on Tilt Rips. This platform offers an option to adjust volatility on select bundles. We tested it in multiple packs, including Sports Blitz for $50 and Pokémon Starter for $25.
Adjusting the variance is as easy as dragging or clicking on the featured slider on Tilt Rips. Depending on the pack, you can set it to Conservative, Speculative, or Risky. High volatility means you can potentially hit a rare card, but at the risk of frequently getting low-value items.
Tilt Rips appears on our list of best card rips packs under $50 for featuring $0.10 Pokémon options. However, the volatility slider isn’t supported for those $0.10 packs.
Mr Loot – Cards based on real Pokémon sets
Pokémon was the sole trading card category we found on Mr Loot. While that’s a limitation, the brand does something most other sites don’t: categorizing cards by sets. If you’re targeting a particular Pokémon card set, you can check specifically for it rather than opening random mystery boxes.
Most of the boxes we saw on Mr Loot sold for less than $100. The most expensive we bought was a Holy Slab box, and it cost $53.02.
As a new collector, you’ll appreciate the Demo option on Mr Loot. We used it to open boxes and packs for free to test how the platform works. There’s still a Box Info section that highlights all potential cards and their odds. The brand’s welcome offer is three free mystery boxes, but they include mainly low-value items.
Royale.gg – Competitive box battles
Unlike most other sites on our list, Royale.gg offers digital mystery boxes, not packs. From our search, the boxes can include sports, Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. It all depends on the current inventory.
We were impressed by Royale.gg’s extra features besides simply unboxing, especially the battles. These battles are competitive games where you face off against other collectors. Whoever pulls the highest-value item gets to keep everything.
During our review, we spotted battles with $26.81, $47.64, and $19.26 entry fees, to name a few. As such, they match the under-$100 target. You can create your own box battles as well.
New players can receive 3 free mystery boxes and a 5% bonus on their first deposit Last Pack – Fast 5-day shipping time
Last Pack focuses specifically on trading card games, including One Piece, Pokémon, Riftbound, and Dragon Ball. We didn’t see sports packs on the website. While the absence of sports affected our ratings, Last Pack still made the list for its notably fast shipping time.
If you choose delivery after pulling a card, you’ll receive it within five business days. The brand’s warehouse is in California, so if you live in or near the Golden State, you should get the collectible quicker.
The less-than-$100 packs to purchase vary depending on the category. That said, most are sold for $1, $10, $25, and $50. When you don’t want to ship, you can sell back for 100% of the card’s estimated value.
Beezie – Marketplace for single trading cards
When you visit Beezie, the home page is a marketplace for purchasing individual collectibles. Pokémon and One Piece are the leading categories, followed by sports, video games, and comics.
To test the marketplace, we selected the soccer category under sports. No seller listed the most valuable FIFA card, but there were items worth up to $1,000. Since the target is $100 or less, we entered $99 in the max price filter. The results included cards valued at $57, $37, $10, and other amounts.
If you’d prefer pulling random cards, switch to the Claw section on Beezie and select Wildcard for $30 or Silver for $50. The process is different from ripping packs, but the results are still random.
Exclusive ONE PIECE raffles! How We Rank Sites for the Best Card Rip Packs Under $100
The platforms that appear in our top 10 list were expertly picked after days of tests. Multiple factors played a role in the process, and these are the most crucial:
Price points
Naturally, we start by checking the available packs for less than $100. If there are none, then the platform can’t make our list. Bundles sold for $25, $50, and any amount between $50 and $100 are our main focus. That said, we still consider $1 to $10 for collectors who want extremely low-budget pulls.
Card categories
These are the four main card categories we look for:
| Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Sports | NBA, MLB, NFL, soccer |
| Trading card games (TCG) | Pokémon, MTG, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Riftbound, Dragon Ball, Naruto |
| Comics and movies | Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers |
| Video game cards | Fortnite, Minecraft |
In each pack, it also helps if the cards cover multiple rarities. That way, you have a real chance of pulling a rare item, even if the odds remain low.
Random technology
The idea is for the rips not to be predetermined or manipulated. So we choose platforms that use trusted technology to ensure every card is pulled at random.
One of the best systems is Provably Fair, which is used on Mr Loot, Boxed.gg, and Royale.gg, among other sites on our list. The technology is based on cryptographic algorithms, and you can verify the random results firsthand.
Pull odds
Odds tell you the probability of pulling a particular card. While randomized rips are unbiased, it’s still important to have odds to know what to expect. Let’s illustrate with the odds for the $50 Checkdown pack on Packz.io:
| Estimated card value | Odds |
|---|---|
| $10 to $20 | 33% |
| $20 to $50 | 17% |
| $50 to $75 | 37% |
| $75 to $100 | 10% |
| $100 to $1,000 | 3% |
From the above distribution, it’s clear that you’re more likely to get a card worth $50 to $75 or $10 to $20. Brands with such transparent odds score high points in our ratings.
Conclusion – Choose Your Preferred Site for Less Than $100 Rips
We recommend digital mystery packs under $100 if you want to chase trading cards without making a large single purchase. Indeed, premium cards have low odds in these bundles. However, the fact that there’s a chance at rare pulls at all can be considered an upside for the price points.
What’s most important is that you join a site with packs containing real cards for the category you’re after. Also, pulls must be random to eliminate bias, and the platform should publish odds for transparency.
From the top 10 on our list, you can easily pick a platform that meets your standards. After you select, click the banners on this page to visit the site and get started.
