The Anaheim Ducks have won their first two games and host the Edmonton Oilers, who have won two straight after losing their season opener.  Let’s get into our Oilers vs. Ducks prediction right away, with the latest odds, betting trends, starting goalie info, and value prop bets for the Pacific Division matchup.

The Oilers look to exact revenge on the Ducks, whom they were favored to beat in the first round of the playoffs last season but lost to in six games. Edmonton had a wild start to the season with a home-and-away series against the Vancouver Canucks, losing 6-5 in overtime in the opener and then winning 9-7 on the road. In their last game, they won their second straight in a 3-1 home win over the Seattle Kraken.

The Ducks have won their first two games by one goal, beating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in the opener, and then the Florida Panthers 3-2 in OT in their last game.

Key Stats

Oilers

Ducks

Probable Starting Goalies

Oilers

While Devon Levi has started the last two games, Tristan Jarry (0-0-1, 5.85 GAA, .739 save %) should start tonight after a poor season opener, giving up six goals on only 23 shots in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

Ducks

Top netminder Lukas Dostal (2-0-0, 2.43 GAA, .918 save %) is the probable starter tonight, and after giving up three goals in his first start, he gave up two on 31 shots in his last one in a 3-2 OT win over the Florida Panthers. If Dostal doesn't get the nod, Ville Husso will; last season, splitting time with the Detroit Red Wings and Ducks, he went 10-8-2 with a 3.25 GAA and an .884 save percentage.

Oilers vs. Ducks Prediction: Oilers Moneyline (-133)

The Oilers have been strong on the attack this season, and while they gave up 13 goals in their first two games, they allowed only one in their last. Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard rank second and third, respectively, in points and will lead the solid attack tonight, pressuring the Ducks all game.

Anaheim has gotten off to a good start with one-goal wins in each of their two games. They have a good attack, but it doesn't stack up against Edmonton. I expect the Oilers to have a better night on both ends of the ice, as they did in their last game, and they will get some revenge for losing to the Ducks in the playoffs last season by winning their first matchup this season.
