In a non-conference game on Tuesday night, the St. Louis Blues host the Montreal Canadiens. In this Canadiens vs. Blues prediction, we will lay out the latest odds, betting trends, key stats, probable starting goalies, and some value player prop bets.

Canadiens vs. Blues Odds

Here are the odds for this matchup at bet365 Sportsbook.

At home, the Blues are slight favourites. In a moneyline example, you could bet $100 on the Habs to win $100 profit ($200 total payout), or $120 on the favored Blues to profit $100.

In their last game, the Canadiens (6-3-2) beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 in the outdoor Heritage Classic. In the win, Kaiden Guhle and Lane Hutson scored, Cole Caufield had two assists, and Jacob Fowler played well between the pipes, turning away 33 of 34 shots. The Habs have won two in a row and three of their last four games. The club is without captain Nick Suzuki, who leads them with 12 points and is out 2-4 weeks with an upper-body injury.

The Blues (5-5-1) had won two in a row before singing the blues in their last game in a 4-0 home shutout loss to the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes. In the loss, they were outshot 39-24, and Joel Hofer gave up all four goals.

Key Stats

Canadiens

Blues

Probable Starting Goalies

Canadiens

Jacob Fowler (5-1-0, 1.79 GAA, .924 save %) has six starts, and Jacob Dobes (1-2-2, 4.47 GAA, .847 save %) has five starts; since Montreal didn't play last night, either could start tonight. Fowler got the start in the last game and has played much better than Dobes, ranking fifth in the NHL in GAA, while Dobes has been peppered, giving up 20 goals over his last four starts.

Blues

Joel Hofer (4-3-1, 2.40 GAA, .917 save %) has been the top netminder for the Blues this season, started the last game, and only gave up three goals in two games before giving up four in the last one. Since St. Louis also didn't play last night, backup Jordan Binnington (1-2-0, 4.68 GAA, .831 save %) may get the start and has allowed at least five goals in two of his three starts.

Canadiens vs. Blues Prediction: Canadiens Moneyline (+100)

Even as an underdog, I am going with the Habs in this one, as they have won their last two games, both on the road, and conceded only one goal in each. It's a tough call without a definitive starting goalie matchup, but Montreal is in better form, has won three of their last four road games, and the Blues are coming off a home shutout loss.
