NFL Best Bets for Week 5
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys -7.5
The Buccaneers (0-4) are on a sinking ship, and with Baker Mayfield out with a thumb injury, they are starting undrafted rookie QB Jalon Daniels, who only threw for 148 yards and a TD and had two picks in the last game. Tampa Bay ranks 24th in points per game and has totaled only 30 points in the last two games.
Ok, so the Dallas defence only ranks 28th in the league in points allowed, but the offence ranks tied for second in scoring. Dak Prescott ranks third in QB rating, and with him, CeeDee Lamb, and a dynamic offence, they will easily win and cover facing a reeling Bucs team.
Best Bet: Cowboys -7.5 – (-110, Betway)
Chicago Bears -1.5 vs. Green Bay Packers
How bad are things for the Green Bay Packers (2-2)? In their last game, they narrowly beat a winless Buccaneers team playing their backup QB, and they head into Week 5 as a home underdog against a Bears team also playing their backup QB. The Packers rank 28th in scoring and 23rd in points allowed per game, and their two wins have come against teams with a combined 1-7 record.
The Bears have won two in a row; in the first game, they had their third-string QB, and in the last, their backup. Caleb Williams is still out, but the backups have played well. Chicago has shined on defence. After giving up 37 points in the season opener, they've allowed just 7.3 points per game in their last three games. That is not good for Green Bay QB Jordan Love, who only ranks 20th in QBR.
Best Bet: Bears -1.5 – (-110, Betway)
San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks Over 46.5 points
In a marquee NFC West matchup, the Seahawks (3-1) host the San Francisco 49ers (4-0). The 49ers have been killing it with Brock Purdy playing at an MVP level, and the team ranks tied second in the league in scoring and third in opponents’ points allowed.
The Seahawks have Sam Darnold back, and they have scored at least 31 points in each of the last three games. While both teams have top-5 defences, each has been lighting up the scoreboard, so we look for a higher-scoring game in this Great Northwest Division clash. The total has gone Over in Seattle's last two games and the last time these teams met in the playoffs last season.

Best Bet: Over 46.5 points – (-105, Betway)
Baltimore Ravens vs. Atlanta Falcons -3.5
In a Sunday night primetime game, the resurgent Falcons (2-2) host the Ravens (3-1), who are dealing with QB issues. Baltimore's two-time winning MVP QB Lamar Jackson has a sprained ankle, and while he's listed as questionable, he hasn't practiced this week. Tyler Huntley has taken first-team reps and will likely get the start.
The Falcons have won two in a row since Michael Penix Jr. came back from injury and have totaled 80 points in those two games. They'll face Derrick Henry and a Ravens rushing attack that ranks fourth in the league in the ground game, but Atlanta leads the league in run defence. Look for the Birds to stay hot at home, win, and cover.

Best Bet: Falcons -3.5 – (-110, Betway)
Buffalo Bills vs. L.A. Rams -3.5
What a sweet Monday night game between the 2-2 Rams and the 3-1 Bills. Buffalo is coming off their first loss of the season, and Josh Allen has only one TD and three INTs in the last two games. While the Bills are the league's highest-scoring team, they rank 25th in opponents’ points allowed.
The Rams are coming off a 24-20 comeback win over the Eagles, where Matthew Stafford led the team to two late TDs. While the team went into the season as the Super Bowl favorite, they are still just 2-2. However, they have lost to solid teams, and Stafford and company will pull off a signature home primetime win and cover against the Bills.
Best Bet: Rams -3.5 – (-110, Betway)
