NFL Best Bets for Week 3: Take the Favourites on TNF and MNF

There are some big early-season games this week from Thursday to Monday, so let’s check out some of the NFL best bets for Week 3.

The action begins Thursday night when the Packers look for their second win in a row, hosting the winless Falcons, and ends Monday night with the Eagles looking to move to 3-0 as they head to the Windy City to face a Bears team down to their third-string quarterback.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Green Bay Packers -4.5 

The Packers got in the win column in their last game with a 20-17 OT win over the New York Jets, while the Falcons fell to 0-2 in a 34-3 embarrassing loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Green Bay had less than 200 yards of offense in the last game, but look for that to change in this one. Jordan Love threw for only 145 yards against the Jets but 387 yards in Week 1. The Jets have the top-ranked passing defense in the league, while the Falcons only rank 23rd and gave up 276 passing yards last week.

Michael Penix Jr. is starting his first game since November of last year after a knee injury; because of that, the Falcons will lean on RB Bijan Robinson, who leads the team in both rushing yards (155) and passing yards (99).

Love will get it done, and the Green Bay defense will too, facing a Falcons offense that has totaled only 16 points in two games.

Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers 

The Bengals are 2-0, and their defense killed it in their last game in a 20-6 win over the Houston Texans. The Steelers (1-1) had a bad Week 2, losing to the New England Patriots 20-3.

Joe Burrow has played well early in the season, but the same isn't true for Aaron Rodgers. The four-time MVP winner ranks 30th in QBR and “leads” a Pittsburgh team that ranks 29th in the NFL in both passing and rushing yards per game.

Take Cincy here, with Pittsburgh fans already calling for Rodgers to be benched.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Buffalo Bills Over 49.5

The Chargers are off to a surprising 0-2 start, scoring only 14 points in each of their two games. The Bills are rolling at 2-0 and have totaled 77 points,

Josh Allen ranks fourth in the league in passing yards, third in QBR, and has 5 TDs and no picks. On the other side of the coin, Justin Herbert has struggled early on with only 401 passing yards and more INTs (3) than TDs. Still, he'll face a Buffalo defense that has given up 31 points in each of the two games.

The total has gone Over in both of the Bills' games this season and in four of their last five home games. This AFC matchup will be yet another high-scoring affair for Buffalo and their defense, which ranks tied for 28th in points allowed; the Over is definitely the pick.

Philadelphia Eagles -4.5 vs. Chicago Bears 

While the Eagles haven't covered the spread in their first two games, they are still 2-0. The Bears scored 59 points in their opener, but then only three in a rain-soaked Week 2 game, losing 9-3 to the Minnesota Vikings.

Caleb Williams is out with a hamstring injury, and backup Tyson Bagent is on concussion protocol. Veteran 38-year-old journeyman Case Keenum gets the start and hasn't started in the NFL since 2023.

While the Bears scored 59 points in their season opener, they still gave up 37.

Jalen Hurts will lead the balanced offense, and the Philly D will come after Keenum all game. The Eagles will get the win and cover, keeping their perfect season intact.
