Canucks Are Closing in On Longest Losing Streak in Franchise History

Last season, the Canucks set a franchise record with 11 straight losses when they had, by far, the fewest points in the NHL. The 2025-26 campaign started decently, with the team winning two of its first three games, but now the Vancouver Canucks are closing in on the longest losing streak ever after losing their 10th straight in their last game.
The Streak
In Vancouver’s 10-game losing streak, they have struggled on both ends of the ice, and in seven of those games, they lost by at least two goals. While the team ranks 18th in goals per game (2.85), they rank dead last in goals against per game (4.62). In the 10 games, they have allowed at least four goals seven times, and in their last three games, they've given up 15 goals.
Throwing Salt in the Wound
Salt was thrown into the Canucks' wound in their last game, when they lost to the Minnesota Wild, with former captain Quinn Hughes doing damage. He was traded to the Wild midseason last season, and on his return to Vancouver, the crowd booed him all night; he still scored a goal and got an assist in the 4-2 loss. In the loss to Minnesota, the Canucks fell behind 4-0 before scoring two third-period goals.
Avoiding Tying the Streak on the Road
For the Canucks to avoid tying their longest losing streak ever, they will have to do so on the road with a win over the Anaheim Ducks in their next game. The Ducks are under .500, and they recently snapped their five-game losing streak. While Vancouver had the fewest points in the league last season, they did beat the Ducks in three of four games, so hope springs eternal for Canucks’ fans.
