Vancouver Whitecaps Back to Winning Ways in MLS

The Vancouver Whitecaps picked up their 16th MLS win of the season on the weekend, defeating Austin FC.
With a playoff spot already sealed, the Caps are looking to finish the regular season in style. Jesper Sorensen’s men have four games left before the MLS playoffs begin.
Vancouver Comes from Behind to See Off Austin
Vancouver ended its four-game MLS winless streak in Austin on Saturday night, coming from behind to take all three points at Q2 Stadium.
Myrto Uzuni opened the scoring for the home team five minutes before halftime. However, the Blue-and-White were quick out of the blocks in the second period, with Ryan Gauld scoring in the 46th minute.
Vancouver was heading for a third successive draw, but Yadaly Diaby had other ideas. The 26-year-old netted in the 71st minute to give the Canadians their first win in a month.
Sorensen’s side leads the way at the top of the Western Conference table with 55 points. Whitecaps have won 16, tied seven, and lost seven, with only Nashville SC picking up more MLS points this season.
Playoffs Approaching
Vancouver has just four regular-season matches to play before the MLS playoffs begin. This weekend, the Canadians traveled to Denver to face Colorado Rapids.
The Caps then have back-to-back home matches against San Diego FC and Seattle Sounders FC before ending the campaign with an all-Canadian clash with CF Montreal in early November.
Whitecaps reached the MLS Cup final last season, losing out to Inter Miami CF in Fort Lauderdale. Can they go one step further this year and win the MLS Cup for the first time in the club’s history?
After two draws and a win from three, Vancouver is looking to keep its momentum going ahead of the playoffs after losing to Chicago Fire FC. Can Sorensen’s troops take all three points in Colorado this weekend?
