Thomas Muller signed a contract extension with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, staying at BC Place until the end of the 2027 MLS season.

With the playoffs approaching, Muller will play an integral role for the Caps as they pursue the MLS Cup.

Muller Signs on the Dotted Line

Muller moved to MLS in 2025 after leaving German giants Bayern Munich. The former Germany international had spent his entire career in Bavaria, winning a host of domestic and continental honours.

He has been a huge hit with the Vancouver supporters since making his MLS debut against Houston Dynamo FC in August 2025. He went on to score eight goals in his first eight MLS appearances and has never looked back.

Muller’s contract extension will keep him in Canada until the end of the 2027 season. By then, the German will be 38, but he shows no signs of letting up.

German Still Has Huge Role to Play

Muller has been a big player for Vancouver since MLS returned from the 2026 FIFA World Cup break. He has netted in wins over Seattle Sounders, Sporting Kansas City, and Real Salt Lake, taking his season tally to nine.

Muller was on target in Vancouver’s thrilling 3-3 draw with DC United last weekend. He celebrated his goal by signing the contract extension, which is great news for the club and MLS in general.

A playoff spot is all but confirmed, and the Caps will fancy their chances of winning the MLS Cup this term. The Canadians lost to Inter Miami CF in last year’s final.

Vancouver has no MLS match this weekend, but Muller & Co. return to action next Wednesday. They take on Chicago Fire FC away from home, the start of five successive road games.
