Peter & Sons Launches Slots in Alberta, Ontario

Leading U.K. slots firm Peter & Sons has launched iGaming in Alberta and Ontario through a partnership with TonyBet.
The British developer has over 60 slots, crash games, and scratchcards, many of which will be available through TonyBet’s licensed online casino.
Peter & Sons is the latest innovative games provider to go live in the newly regulated Alberta space, following Amusnet and others. TonyBet Casino will host dozens of slots, such as ‘Bloody Mary Pray for Prey’ and ‘Lucky Caiman’.
‘Viking Legacy: Hold & Win’ Among Big Releases
Peter & Sons has built up a reputation for quirky, interesting slots. And one of the best in the Peter & Sons catalog goes live this week: ‘Viking Legacy: Hold & Win’.
The Norse-themed slot combines prize multipliers and big jackpots to great effect. It’s possible to unlock one of four prizes, the biggest of which is worth 5,000x the stakes.
TonyBet went live in Ontario in 2022 but expanded its foothold this year through a partnership with St8. The move into Alberta as one of the province’s first 50 regulated providers was logical.
Ontario & Alberta’s Regulated iGaming Charge
Alberta is the new playground for TonyBet, as it has become one of the more recent additions to the province’s list of regulated casinos. Alberta now has around 50 regulated casinos and sportsbooks, with software companies in two offering slots, table games, and more.
Ontario has had regulated online gambling sites since 2022. However, it’s taken TonyBet until this year to expand its presence in the province. In February, it went live with St8, a larger platform that lets TonyBet offer a wider range of games and slots.
Peter & Sons Joins a Crowded Alberta Market
Peter & Sons has wasted no time in getting in on the Alberta iGaming action. Officially, Alberta’s new gaming industry launched with just 22 operators. However, that’s more than doubled with the addition of many casinos and slot developers.
Most recently, Games Global introduced its range of Microgaming slots and progressives to the Alberta public. Not only does Games Global offer many of Microgaming’s classic slots and world-famous jackpot games, but it also has an exclusive live casino deal with OnAir Entertainment.
Fanatics Improves Canada’s Online Sportsbooks
It’s not just software developers that are growing Canada’s two regulated spaces. New online casinos and sportsbooks continue to go live.
Earlier this month, Fanatics Sportsbook went live in Ontario, with Alberta to follow. The online casino is only available for now as the provider goes for a soft launch. However, its casino is still stocked with top slots from developers like IGT and Playtech.
Online Casinos Boost Ontario iGaming
Though Ontario has legalized sports betting, it’s online casinos that are driving the boom in iGaming in the province.
According to the latest reports from iGaming Ontario and the Alcohol and Gaming Association of Ontario (AGCO), over 91% of those surveyed said they used regulated gambling sites. Casinos and sportsbooks have recorded over CA$4.2 billion in gaming revenue in the latest year of regulation.
The news has been good for Ontario’s regulated sportsbooks, too. They had a record July for wagering, with a 31% year-over-year increase in total wagers taken.
