Boyd Interactive Makes Evolution Exclusive Live Dealer Provider in Canada

Boyd Interactive has strengthened its live casino offering in Canada with an exclusivity deal with Evolution Gaming.

Under the terms of the deal, leading live casino developer Evolution becomes the exclusive partner of Boyd’s Canadian online casinos. These include Stardust Casino and ResortsCasino.com. The deal also rolls out in New Jersey at the MoheganSunCasino.com brand.

Canadian players at those two casinos now have access to well-known Evolution Gaming titles, including Immersive Roulette, Live Blackjack, and Dream Catcher.

Stardust Casino is live in Ontario, where it operates under license from the AGCO. The online casino was one of the first regulated gambling sites to go live in Alberta.

Stardust, Resorts Now Host 40+ Evolution Titles

A visit to the Stardust Casino online site reveals a dedicated Evolution Live Dealer portal.

There are now several categories of games: blackjack, roulette, baccarat/Sic Bo, game shows, poker, and a ‘Top Games’ window. Customers can also receive ‘For You’ recommendations from the casino itself.

As with the best live casinos, customers can also claim bonuses when they sign up to play live dealer games.

Evolution in Canada: A Snapshot

2017: Evolution Gaming announces it is building a Canadian studio, a first major expansion beyond Europe. The deal is to stream games on the state-regulated PlayNow.com site in British Columbia.  

2021: Evolution supplies live casino games to PlayAlberta, the province’s state-run gambling platform.

April 2022: Goes live on Day One of Ontario’s legal iGaming market. Operators include 888, LeoVegas, and BetMGM.

Ontario iGaming Up for August

Online gambling helped Ontario achieve an 18.4% year-over-year increase in revenue, according to the latest reports.

Ontario was the first Canadian province to regulate private online casino providers. Its mature industry is streets ahead of Alberta’s right now, but the gap could close in the coming years.

Online casino gambling in Ontario was up over 25% year-over-year, to CA$336 million. The post-World Cup lull led to a somewhat predictable dip in sports betting revenue.

Overall, sportsbook activity declined, and revenue fell by 9.6%. However, the start of the NFL season could mean next month’s figures are a little healthier.
