Versatile Davies Impresses Against Arsenal

Alphonso Davies has been in and out of Bayern Munich’s starting lineup this season, but should he start this Sunday against Freiburg after an impressive display against Arsenal?
The Canadian international netted his second UEFA Champions League goal of the season in midweek and was excellent throughout against the Gunners.
Davies Looking to Cement Starting Berth
Despite Davies being one of the best left-backs in pro soccer, Nathaniel Brown's arrival has given Bayern serious options in defence.
However, Davies has been pushed further forward lately as Vincent Kompany experiments with a new position. The Canadian played on the left wing against Arsenal and was superb throughout.
Davies was on target for the Bavarians in last month's 5-0 Champions League win over Bodo Glimt. He backed that up with his second goal of the season in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with English Premier League champions Arsenal.
Eberechi Eze opened the scoring for the away team, but Davies levelled with a smart run and finish ten minutes before the break. Harry Kane’s penalty put Bayern in front on the hour mark, but Declan Rice rescued a point for the Gunners with eight minutes to play.
New Attacking Position for the Canadian
Competition for places in Munich’s team is always fierce, especially with the recent injuries. Davies's more attacking role has been a positive, and the 25-year-old certainly staked his claim with an impressive European performance.
Overall, Davies has played 10 times in all competitions this season, including five Bundesliga appearances.
Games are coming thick and fast, and Davies could play a big role for FC Hollywood over the next weeks and months.
This Sunday, Kompany takes his side to Europa-Park to play Freiburg. Will Davies feature in Bayern’s starting XI again?
