Can Promise David Break into Brighton’s Flying Team?

Promise David has made just two English Premier League appearances since making the loan switch to Brighton & Hove Albion in August.
As Brighton looks to challenge the big boys for a top-four finish in the Premier League, will the Canadian international play a big role at the Amex Stadium this season?
Waiting for His Chance in England
David started the season in fine style for Union Saint-Gilloise, scoring against Bodo Glimt in Europe and netting in the opening-day league win at Westerlo.
Despite signing a new Union SG contract just last year, David was loaned to EPL side Brighton in mid-August. The deal is a season-long loan with an obligation to buy for £22 million if certain criteria are met.
He made his Premier League debut in the 4-3 defeat against Chelsea in late August, playing the last ten minutes at Stamford Bridge. He featured a week later in the 1-1 home draw with Leeds but has not played a Premier League minute since.
After playing three games for Canada in the international window, David played over 30 minutes in Brighton’s 4-0 UEFA Conference League victory over Kauno Zalgiris.
Seagulls Flying Under Hurzeler
Breaking into this flying Seagulls side will not be easy for David. Fabian Hurzeler’s men have made a tremendous start to their 2026-27 season, winning eight of their opening 11 league and cup games.
After a 1-1 EPL draw with Leeds at the Amex, Albion have won six in a row in all competitions, scoring 22 goals.
Brighton is currently third in the Premier League, behind only title favourites Manchester City and Arsenal. A top-four place is the priority, and Hurzeler’s side is well and truly in the mix.
David could feature in Thursday’s Conference League trip to Jablonec. After that, Brighton travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League at the weekend.
