Bet99 review for 2026: Is Bet99 legit and safe? Comprehensive ratings

Written By John Carlo Villaruel , Sports Betting Expert for TheLines.com

Bet99 offers Ontarians access to more than 25 popular and niche sports markets, as well as ample live betting opportunities, and dependable customer support. And today, we’re going to explore everything the site has to offer, in great detail.

We’ll kick off today’s Bet99 review with a look at the latest licensing situation for those of you keen to bet here from ON. From there, we’ll pick apart all the site’s top sports markets and most interesting betting features, before covering what payment methods you can currently use, how to find your way around the site, and more.

Bet99: Pros and Cons
Bet99: Pros and Cons
  • Covers major and minor sports
  • Great for tennis and soccer
  • AGCO-licensed
  • English and French language options
  • Mixed Android app reviews

First up - licensing, rep and online security

As you folks no doubt already know, Ontarians can only bet online legally with sportsbooks that hold Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) licences. And we’re happy to confirm that Bet99 currently matches that description.

In fact, Bet99 has been licensed in ON since September 2022, and remains one of the most popular betting brands in the province today, despite fierce competition from the likes of Betway Ontario, and other big name sportsbooks that have been live in ON for a similar length of time.

As it stands, the site holds a real solid reputation - Bet99 won awards for “#1 Online Gaming Experience in Canada” two years running in 2024 and 2025, and generally reels in mostly positive reviews on sites like TrustPilot, too.

When putting together today’s Bet99 review, we spotted quite a few safety and security green flags on the operator’s own site, too. Such as:

In short, then, Bet99 is 100% available to Ontarians right now, so long as you meet the AGCO’s 19+ minimum age requirement. While the brand’s reputation and online security features totally check out, too.

Bet99’s sportsbook - what markets and special features are up for grabs?

Okay, now we’ve established that Bet99 is good to go in Ontario, let’s take a closer look at what you guys can expect from the site’s sportsbook - which we saw advertising more than 25 main markets, broken down into a whole bunch of popular (and more niche) leagues and events when writing today’s review.

Top sports markets at the time of writing

As it stands, Bet99 offers Ontarians competitive odds on most major and mainstream sports, including basketball, soccer, hockey, football and tennis - the latter of which is undoubtedly Bet99’s biggest and broadest market, with more than 200 different tennis-specific betting options displayed at the time of writing.

Having said that, we were equally impressed by how broad the coverage is of smaller sports and leagues over here, too. Currently, you can bet on anything from futsal, darts and waterpolo, to ski jumping and snooker, typically with a minimum bet of just $0.10 CAD, depending on the event.

What’s more, odds on the likes of the Toronto and Ottawa mayoral elections are advertised on the site’s “Specials” page, too. Meaning there are even betting options available outside of the realm of sports.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the most popular (and best represented) markets that our Bet99 review uncovered at the time of writing:

Special Bet99 sportsbook features to sink your teeth into

So, there’s certainly no shortage of sports you can bet on with Bet99’s sportsbook in Canada (or Ontario, at least) right now. But does the site have any fun or unique betting features available?

Well, yes - we found that those of you who choose to bet here will be able to benefit from:

Regularly rotated live betting options

Bet99 offers live betting opportunities aplenty across most (but not all) of its main markets. Naturally, these are rotated according to what’s what at any one time.

At the time of writing, soccer, tennis, basketball, cricket and table tennis all had competitive in-play odds up for grabs, with odds usually the most impressive on tennis matches and soccer games. These two markets in particular were available with a bunch of fun same game parlay (SGP) options, too.

Competitive all round odds

Generally speaking, we found that Bet99’s odds match up very nicely against those you’ll find advertised by its competitors. But feel free to read our BetVictor sportsbook review, and our recent writeups of Bwin and other ON betting brands if you’d like to make your own comparisons here.

As mentioned above, tennis (including table tennis) and European and World Cup soccer games were posting the most impressive numbers on Bet99 at the time of writing.

Standout live streaming opportunities

Tennis, table tennis and European soccer all frequently feature built-in live streams on Bet99’s ON site, too, as do MLB and some other baseball events.

Although the site encourages bettors to seek out official, external streams for the likes of NBA, NHL and NFL, which we thought was a little inconvenient.

Payment options at Bet99 - our review’s findings

Bet99 offers an equally broad range of different payment options - with VISA and MasterCard both available on the cards front, as well as PayPal, Trustly, MuchBetter, Interac and Apple Pay for those of you who are more into using e-wallets. Instant bank transfer is supported by the site, too. So, there are plenty of trusted payment options for you to choose from.

When funding your account, our Bet99 sportsbook review found that you can usually expect deposits to go through instantly. While withdrawal times are up to industry standards, too.

Bet99 doesn’t publish official payment by payment withdrawal times on its site, but their “Help” page indicates that you should contact the brand’s customer support team if any cash out requests are left on “pending” for 24 hours or more - suggesting that this is probably a pretty rare occurrence.

And as you’ll learn soon enough in the next section, we found that Bet99’s customer service team tends to be dead dependable in ON, too.

Customer support channels at Bet99 Canada

If ever you need assistance or support, our Bet99 review found that the brand offers an on-page live chat feature that’s generally the easiest support option to use on Bet99’s site right now.

You’ll be connected to an AI chatbot at first, which we found comes with switchable English and French language options for Canadians, and is well programmed to answer most common queries. Although naturally, it’s also happy to put you in touch with a human if you ask it too.

We tried this at our end, and were connected with a friendly support team member within just a couple of minutes, who resolved our withdrawal time query pretty sharp-ish.

An email service is also offered as an alternative, albeit slightly slower, contact option. While we found that the site shapes up nicely in terms of FAQs, blogs and catch-all help articles for those of you who prefer not to talk with agents directly, too.

The “Help” tab serves up step by step guides on how to make deposits using specific payment methods, for example. While it also features a functional, fast-acting search engine, and some beginner-friendly blogs about how in play betting and player props work, too.

Usability and site layout - exploring Bet99 Canada’s sportsbook

Bet99’s Ontario-facing website is easy to find your way around, too. Much like the brand’s support offering, the site is available in both English and French. While the layout of Bet99’s sportsbook homepage is all very traditional - your betting slip is located on the right, the main menu is on the left, and trending and featured odds are in the centre, topped by filter options for all your favourite markets.

The grey and black colour scheme used by Bet99 is a bit on the dark and dingy side. But we do like the way their site highlights all the most fun stuff - such as SGP and live betting options - in neon green to make them really stand out. While we also like the fact that individual sports pages have their own separate tabs for “Now & Next”, “Leagues” and “Futures”, which makes it extra easy to pin down specific games and events.

A sportsbook-specific search engine is offered in the top right hand corner, too - although this can admittedly be a little slow-acting at times. So, we’d suggest sticking with the filters and tabs in most use cases.

Betting from a smartphone or tablet - are Bet99’s apps any good?

Bet99 offers both iOS and Android apps to Ontarians. Which is great news if you’re the type who likes to place bets from your phone or your iPad.

Generally, Bet99’s apps both look - and feel - like squished down versions of the brand’s regular website. All the same filter and single market buttons are available, albeit smaller, and we liked the fact that live chat auto-launches in a collapsible full screen mode, too.

At the time of writing, Bet99 Canada’s app has a 4.2 star rating on the App Store, across more than 1,000 user reviews. However, it’s worth noting that their Android app holds a surprisingly lower 3.5 star average on Google Play, with some users claiming that verification or payment pages froze up on them unexpectedly at times.

When we tested both apps, we didn’t personally encounter any notable performance or lag issues. So, we’re hopeful Bet99’s latest updates have ironed out the problems flagged up by previous bettors. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that Bet99’s standard website is completely mobile-friendly. So, there’s no need to download their Android app to bet here if you don’t like the sound of it.

Our Bet99 review conclusion - a diverse, very nicely designed sportsbook

Ultimately, we think there’s a lot to love about Bet99 - from its comprehensive coverage of both major and minor sports, to its competitive odds, bilingual site and apps, and impressive live betting and streaming options.

Sure, the site’s colour scheme is all a bit grey, and some bettors might not like the fact that tennis and soccer generally get broader coverage here than other sports do. But generally, this is a well-designed and easy to use sportsbook, with an excellent range of payment options available, fast acting customer support, and a solid brand reputation.
