A term bettors cherish — value — drapes the  Black Eyed Susan Stakes on Friday at Pimlico Race Course. Solid prices surround eight fillies, none of whom have ever hit the top three at this 1 1/8-mile distance, vying for their share of a $300,000  purse. The unproven nature of the field will present significant betting opportunities for nationwide gamblers making Black-Eyed Susan Stakes bets.

Bettors can access all the action with a huge FanDuel Racing promo, with new users getting up to a $500 No Sweat Win Bet on the Preakness or the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes. Past Performances For Potential Black-Eyed Susan Bets

1. Jeanne Marie (20-1)

Parx invader made a bid at Laurel in the $125,000 Weber City Miss, finishing second to Call Another Play after a nice forwardly-placed trip. Competition is better in this race as she stretches to 1 1/8 miles.

2. Ringy Dingy (10-1)

Captured the $100,000 White Clay Creek decisively at Delaware Park but hit the wall in the $250,000 Demoiselle, which would be similar to this level. Seventh and nowhere to be seen in that one.

3. Lemon Muffin (4-1)

Won the Honeybee early this year and looked like a major player. But ran 7th and 8th in the Fantasy and Kentucky Oaks, respectively, making supporters scratch their heads.

Throws in a dominant effort once in a while. Stalker-closer type.

4. Call Another Play (8-1)

Has been aptly named during her last three races. After a 1-6 start, she has called on another source of ability to capture three straight.

The last came in the $125,000 Weber City Miss, where she tracked a slow pace and prevailed at 5-1. Sure, there were only five horses in the field. But somebody had to win, and it was her.

All three victories have unfolded at distance races, including two at 1 1/16 miles. Shows fitness even if that was in cheaper company. As she moves up, she tries 1 1/8 amid the best form in her career.

5. Gun Song (9-2)

Had a good run at it in the Gulfstream Oaks, taking a forwardly-placed third-place standing into the final turn. But then she had nothing left and finished fourth.

Will have company on the front end in this one, but that was a reasonably good effort coming in.

Has never won beyond allowance company, but that victory occurred at Gulfstream Park, which carries some pedigree.

6. Whocouldaskformo (6-1)

Has struggled after leaving the friendly confines of Tampa Bay Downs, finishing mid-pack at Gulfstream Park and at Aqueduct. Closes fairly well. Would be interesting to see what would happen if she was closer to the early pace.

Has the best placement finish in this field at 1 1/8 miles, a distant fourth in the Gazelle.

7. Corposo (5-2)

Had a distant third to Nothing Like You in the Santa Anita Oaks but was forwardly placed and will probably be near the front again here.

Stretches out and goes up in company. That’s why her odds may go up. She should be near the pace with Jeanne Marie, Recharge, and Gun Song.

Ships from California circuit.

8. Recharge (7-2)

Contender. Respectable fifth in the $750,000 Fantasy Stakes, underscored by victorious Thorpedo Anna becoming one of the nation’s top fillies.

Should be in a good stalking position to make her move. Beat Lemon Muffin in the Fantasy Stakes.

Pace SCenarios

Four horses — Jeanne Marie, Gun Song, Corposo, and Recharge — have shown a tendency to want the lead. Recharge has seemed the most determined in this group.

None have been good finishers.

Gun Song comes out of a race with a better time, while Recharge exits a race with more class. How do you evaluate that?

Whocouldaskformo and Call Another Play have run fairly well as closers.

The betting dilemma is that one doesn’t know how far a speed horse can take her best run or if a closer would start making a move in time.

My Black-Eyed Susan Bets

Frontrunning speed has been rewarded in recent years as the tight turns have been friendly milestones for the pacesetters. I give a slight nod to Gun Song over Recharge in that regard. I can see Recharge getting the lead, but Gun Song being able to go a little further.

Small win bet on Gun Song (5). Will throw Recharge (8), Call Another Play (4), Whocanaskformo, (6), and Corposo (7) underneath in some wager close to post time. One small exacta box 5-8 in case the closers don’t show up.

But with these types of win-price odds, most of the money has to go on that wager.

These are the types of races that “looks” players gobble up as they witness something in the post parade hinting a horse may be primed for a big race. If you are one of those bettors, this might be a great spot for you.

Whatever you like, be sure to invest in the win line because that should offer a good price.

Good luck with Black-Eyed Susan bets.
