Super Bowl Betting: Buffalo Rumbles To The Top

Unsurprisingly, Josh Allen & Co. represent BetMGM’s biggest Super Bowl betting liability — in regards to the overall handle (18.8%) and ticket count (12.1%). Caesars Sportsbook noted a similar level of interest in July.

After sitting at +750 when the market initially opened in February, they’ve dipped to +600.

Furthermore, the sportsbook will be rooting against long-term success for the Broncos, as they rank second in handle (9.9%) and tickets (9.7%), respectively. Bettors are even high on Russell Wilson‘s chances of winning his first-ever MVP award. His price tag shortened from +3000 to +1400 after Seattle shipped him off to the Mile High City in March.

Interestingly enough, neither one is the sportsbook’s largest threat to win the AFC. As of this writing, that title belongs to the Ravens (+1100), which have accounted for 14.4% of the handle.

Tom Brady’s Buccaneers are next up in the Super Bowl betting market, racking up 8.3% of the money and 8.0% of the bets, respectively. Their odds immediately shifted down from +2500 to +750 once Brady wiped out his original retirement plans on Selection Sunday.

Don’t Jump The Gun

It’s worth noting that all three organizations may take time to string together continuity. Among the Bills’ fair share of departures, former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is now the lead dog with the Giants. Meanwhile, the Broncos possess a brand-new coaching staff — on top of Wilson’s arrival — and the Bucs are banged up on the offensive line.

Hence, if you’re high on one of them, a more intriguing number may appear down the road.
