It’s a unique approach that is actually simpler than you think, as you just have to back the betting odds or ‘lay’ them to say that the outcome won’t happen. The point of all of this is that you can find greater variance in the odds and it's also a more social way to bet too. Here are the key things you need to know about betting at Novig:
Sports featured
While Novig doesn’t feature quite as many sports as major online sportsbooks, you can still enjoy social betting on all of the big-hitters like football, basketball, hockey, baseball, as well as the WNBA and college sports. There’s also coverage of everything from ATP tennis through to PGA golf, and it looks like other sports such as MMA and soccer are due to be introduced soon.

Understanding the virtual currencies used at Novig
So Novig is a social sportsbook and this means that there is no real money gambling here. Instead, you will be ‘betting’ with virtual currencies. These are called Novig Coins and Novig Cash, and while they have different names from the virtual currencies featured in my Fliff review, they work in a similar way. So here’s what you need to know:
- Novig Coins: These are basically used to bet on sports for fun with no chance of being able to redeem any prizes. I was always able to get some Novig Coins via one of the many special offers, but you can also purchase them as a package.
- Novig Cash: This is where things get interesting because Novig Cash can be used to bet on sports in the promotional sweepstakes mode. So If you playthrough your Novig Cash and win back the minimum required amount, you can then redeem them for real-world prizes. The cool thing to note here is that you can only ever get Novig Cash for free.
Safe payment methods found in this Novig review
While I was able to bet at Novig a long time using free credit from those promos, there did come a time when I wanted to purchase one of those optional Novig Coins packages.
To do this, I just made a one-off payment with my Visa debit card, although it looks like you can also use Mastercard and bank transfers via Trustly. I went for the $5 package which gave me 5,000 Novig Coins and I even got five Novig Cash as a free bonus. My payment went through instantly and without charge.
Redeeming your Novig Cash for real prizes
Novig features a similar prize redemption process as over at Legendz, and it’s worth having a recap of what this actually involves:
- You can only redeem prizes with the Novig Cash form of virtual currency.
- The Novig Cash has to be played through at least once before you can redeem any prizes.
- You will have to have won back a minimum of 20 Novig Cash before you can start the prize redemption request.
- Redemptions can only be processed via a Trustly bank transfer.
- Cash prizes will be redeemed at a rate of one Novig Cash for one US dollar.
I found that all of the above was true when making my first redemption. This took around seven working days as it had a few verification checks, but it looks like those redemption times will go down to just a couple of working days for all redemptions after the first one.
All about that Novig app
While it was perfectly fine to enjoy social betting on the Novig site, I found that it was actually better to do so on the brand’s app. This is available for all modern iOS and Android devices and you can download them for free from the App Store and Google Play.
Upon loading up the app and logging in I found it easy to check my balance at the top and it was also simple to toggle between Novig Cash and Novig Coins. There is also a tab for the various promotions showing you exactly how large your daily login bonus is getting.
In terms of the sportsbook, you can hit tabs for the relevant sports like the MLB and NHl and the day's sporting events will be listed chronologically under that. The betting lines are displayed horizontally for things like moneyline, spread and totals, and you can hit the tab to find other bets for things like player props.
It's easy to carry out extra tasks like making a three-pick parlay and all of the relevant social features are nicely integrated.

I’ve shown you that Novig is a seriously innovative social betting site that is unafraid to try something different. By letting you bet against other bettors, it makes the whole thing even more enjoyable and what’s best is that you stand to get much better odds too.
