BetMGM Michigan

BetMGM Michigan was one of the first retail sportsbooks open in the Wolverine State. It looks like it plans to be at the front of the line when Michigan online sports betting starts as well.

The company is offering bonus site credit to Michiganders who sign up for their online casino and sportsbook accounts now, ahead of its eventual launch for both products in Michigan.

Registration bonus for new BetMGM Sportsbook in Michigan

Registering a new account for BetMGM in Michigan is easy, free, and quick. In exchange for a few moments of your time the company will give you $100 for the casino and $100 for the sportsbook when they go live.

If you’re using a computer, just go here to get started. Click on sign-up and follow the on-screen prompts. To register, you’ll have to share a few pieces of identifying information, including your:

  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Last four digits of your Social Security Number
  • Legal name
  • Mailing address

If you’re on a smartphone or a tablet, the process is a little different based on what kind of device you’re using. For iOS device users, you can sign up for BetMGM Michigan by going here.

For Android device users, you can sign up by going here.

You do not have to live in Michigan to sign up and take advantage of this offer. In fact, you don’t even have to be in the state when you sign up. It’s completely legal for you to register from Wisconsin, for example.

This offer expires when the BetMGM casino in Michigan or sportsbook goes live in the state. It looks like the latter of those two will be available before the former.

The latest update for online gambling in Michigan

Right now, it looks like mid-January is the target date for online sports betting in Michigan. The Michigan Gaming Control Board has issued provisional licenses to 15 operators.

A timeframe for online casino and online poker is less firm. Sometime next year seems like a safe bet, however. The MGCB is further behind in that process, as it’s still reviewing applications.

Because MGM operates one of the three Detroit commercial casinos, this offer won’t be the last for Michiganders. If this $200 bonus is a foreshadow of things to come, BetMGM customers in Michigan should be well-rewarded.
