JACK Entertainment– who operates downtown Cleveland’s popular JACK Casino– launched betJACK Sportsbook Ohio on Apr. 6. The book will be one of the Ohio sports betting apps come launch day by Jan. 1, 2023. In the meantime, they’re holding Training Camp.
It’s a sportsbook without real money, with the goal is to educate Ohioans on how to bet on sports and give them some practice.

Along with outlets like TheLines covering Ohio sports betting websites and developments, Ohioans have a chance to grow an understanding of how sports betting works.
Upon signup– which doesn’t ask for ID verification quite yet– bettors are awarded 100 tokens that can be used to place wagers. It doesn’t appear to require bettors to verify that they’re in the state of Ohio yet, either. It appears betJACK is ready to become their own book once the state launches betting rather than assuming the title of another book like Caesars or FanDuel.
BetJACK currently allows users to go in and bet on real games with real lines. What makes this legal is that bettors use free site tokens rather than real dollars and cents. They offer dozens of lines on current games like the NBA postseason up through college football futures.

The First Of Its Kind
With gaining relevance, awareness, and participation in sports betting, sportsbooks are trying new things to cater to a wide audience and attract new users. BetJACK’s training camp mode is something we haven’t seen before. Previous launches like Ontario and New York saw books turn live immediately without this trail run before.
They offer Ohio bettors the full array of leagues and even got in on early Week 1 lines for college football. As of the writing of this article, BetMGM was the only other book with lines for those games up, including Notre Dame at Ohio State.
