Written By Derek Wagner | Last Updated

Super Bowl Odds have arrived, and with them, the best Super Bowl longshots. The best sports betting sites have released an enormous betting menu, ranging from Super Bowl MVP longshots to longest reception longshots. Brandon Aiyuk and Rashee Rice are the favorites to reel in the longest reception, but can a longshot reel in a deep bomb?

Let’s dive into Marquez Valdes-Scantling for the longest reception and see if he’s worth a wager.

The Favorite for Longest Reception: Brandon Aiyuk +360

Aiyuk is rightfully the favorite here; his breakaway speed helped him notch 28 explosive plays for 20+ yards this season, third most behind CeeDee Lamb and Tyreek Hill. However, he’s sputtered down the stretch, only eclipsing 60 receiving yards in one of his last three games and reeling in one explosive pass play of 20+ yards. That lone reception bounced off the facemask of Lions cornerback Kindle Vildor before he secured it.

The Longshot for Longest Reception: Marquez Valdes-Scantling +1300

Scantling comes in on a heater, reeling in a 32-yard reception in consecutive games. His most recent one was against the Ravens, which clinched the game and sent the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. It wasn’t the first time Patrick Mahomes turned to MVS late in a game, either. Remember, in Week 11 against the Eagles, Scantling had man coverage against Bradley Roby and dropped what would have been a 51-yard touchdown reception with 1:43 remaining in the game. Had he secured the catch, it would’ve been the longest in that game.

Fast forward to Week 13 against the Packers. They were trailing 27-19, and MVS was targeted 45 yards down the field but failed to reel in the catch due to a missed PI call. Had he not been interfered with, MVS would’ve had a chance to secure the longest reception in that game.

KC turns to MVS frequently with the game on the line, whether winning or trailing. He’s their fastest receiver and their best big playmaker against man coverage. His ADOT is second highest on the team at 17.9 yards, behind only Justin Watson. Meanwhile, Rashee Rice’s ADOT this year was a mere 5.2 yards.

Ultimately, this market is priced correctly, given the target share of each player. That said, MVS is certainly worth a flyer at this price when we consider he’s trusted in big spots.

Good luck betting on some of the best Super Bowl longshots!
