As the NHL postseason’s first round rolls on, we’ve got a scant two-game slate on the ice for Monday. One of the two contests is an elimination game, while the other features a pair of Western Conference rivals: one trying to square the series, the other seeking a 3-1 edge. Let’s break down the schedule.

NHL Schedule

With this slate on the docket, there are some solid options for your NHL prop bets and anytime goal scorer picks across the league. It’s time for players to make a name for themselves. Let’s take a look at some of the top plays to help you walk away a winner at the window.

Anytime Goal Scorer Picks Today

Dylan Guenther, Mammoth Over 0.5 Goals (+165, BetMGM)

Guenther had a big regular season for the Mammoth, lighting the lamp 40 times in the regular season. That includes 23 goals in 40 games at home during the regular season. He’s tallied twice and added an assist in three playoff games so far in the postseason. Guenther has fired plenty of rubber on the net, logging 13 shots on goal already. Seeing how aggressive he’s been in the offensive end, you can expect more rubber off the stick of number 11. It would be no surprise to see one find the back of the net in this contest.

Tomas Hertl, Golden Knights Over 0.5 Goals (+310, DraftKings)

Hertl has cracked the 30-goal mark three times in his career. He currently finds himself in one of the worst slumps of his career. Hertl dented the twine just once in his final 23 regular season games and has one assist to his credit in the postseason. It’s not from lack of opportunities as he has seven shots on goal and eight other attempts that wound up off target. The Golden Knights have too much firepower, especially with the man advantage, to keep coming up empty. Hertl is due for a goal and this may be the night.

Richard Rakell, Penguins Over 0.5 Goals (+205, DraftKings)

Rakell was hot down the stretch of the regular season, scoring 10 goals in his last 11 games. We had Rakell on the board for Saturday’s contest and he found the net for the first time in the postseason. He has a goal and three assists in four playoff games. That means Rakell has been a factor in half of Pittsburgh’s goals in the postseason. Playing on the top line with Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust, Rakell has the linemates he needs to be a threat. This line clicked with Pittsburgh’s back to the wall Saturday. It has the potential to do the same thing again here in Game 5.

Golden Knights vs. Mammoth Under 6 (-120, BetMGM)

Since the Mammoth moved to Utah from Arizona, these teams have met nine times. The under has posted a 5-2-2 mark in those contests. Only one of these nine contests has seen the teams go over this number, a 4-3 Vegas win on November 2, 2024. That contest took overtime to get to that mark. In the three regular season meetings this year, we saw the teams combine for five, six and four goals. Game 1 was no different as Vegas picked up a 4-2 win that had an empty net goal. We saw five goals in Game 2 and six in Game 3. That marks eight straight meetings with six combined goals or less. Based on recent history, lean toward the under in this contest.

Sidney Crosby, Penguins Over 2.5 Shots (-157, Fanatics)

While the Penguins have sputtered when it comes to lighting the lamp in this series, they still have the firepower to do damage. Crosby is a prime candidate to put some rubber on the net for the Penguins, especially in an elimination game. He has fired 13 shots on goal in the four games in this series. Meanwhile, Crosby has fired three, three, four and three shots on goal against the Flyers in the postseason. He managed to light the lamp for the first time in Game 4. As a result, look for him to put at least three pucks on net for the Penguins in this contest.
